Sridevi, Madhuri out, it's Shefali in DDD

Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit-Nene reportedly got queasy when they were offered the role of the Punjabi mother to screen siblings, Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh, in Zoya Akhtar's Dil Dhadakne Do (DDD).
The trade gup is that Shefali Shah, who is younger than Madhuri and Sri, has taken up the challenge. Shefali has earlier played mother to Akshay Kumar, who is older than her, in her filmmaker husband Vipul Shah's Waqt " The Race Against Time.
However, an insider on DDD maintained that Shefali will not be doing the mother's role; she'll do something different.
When we texted Shefali, she said, "I'm doing Zoya's film." Declining to comment on the role, she added, "All I can say is, it's an important role and I'm excited about doing the film."

madhuri isn't ready to play a mother i think she is very young to play mother to priyanka ranveer

so shefali isn't playing the mothers role but will play another role, we shud find out who is playing the mother soon as the shooting apparently starts in may. excited for the movie!

A 46 playing a mother to a 31 and 32 is gross. Thank god both madz and sridevi said no to it! I can't imagine them playing mother to 30 plus actors!

ranveer is 28, pc is 31. But I think they are playing characters who r in their early twenties in the movie. Whoever gets casted as the mother I am sure will fit the role.

Omg am I the only one who is shocked to discover that Shefali is younger than Akshay. Waqt is one of my favourite films, I never thought she would b younger than Akki.

Ohh I didn't knew he's 28 but I still can't imagine madhuri playing mother to 28 and 31 actors. It's way too much. Even if they are playing early 20s in the movie but that makes no difference because in real they in their late 20s and early 30s so can't imagine mid 40s actresses playing their mothers.

I can see Madz and Sri in a mother's role but to a 7 or a 8 year old not someone who is 25 or so... They are not yet in that zone where they can play a Nirupama Roy kind of role...

yeh and she played amitach bachans wife and akshays mother in waqt, from Wikipedia it says shefali is 41 and akshay is 46.

wat about sri devi? she is 50 years old and a mother of two grown up girls.
