well after 90s indian culture changed ..multiplexes developed india got intentionally recognised and their film tastes govinda films never worked after 90s

no one preached about it being a HIT.

It's recovered it's cost being high budget film for a newcomer doing his second film. Atleast it isn't disaster as many said it'd be

Also movie recovered most of it's cost before release so that + side for the film.

& finally film could have done more as all trades say but cricket clashed and crashed BO on 2 major days of 1st weekend

It's pretty annoying how some people look down on comedy films.. when it is by far the most watched genre in India. There is a reason why even classy films like 3I have a comedy element in them.

Often its harder to make people laugh than cry or whatever.. that's why I feel stars like Govinda, Rajpal Yadav and Paresh Rawal deserve more recognition and appreciation.

Comedy is hard ...it can make a actor look silly sometimes...varun did it too perfection...not bad if MTH does 50 crore.
More than box office ...audience and critics both praised a masala comedy movie ...which is a rarity...a 2 movie old actor can't ask for more than that

Rohit bhai, are you sure it received praise from critics? The film as a whole got mostly mixed reviews from what I know.. only Varun was liked by audience + critics.
