Exactly, majority of the women don't have the tool to fight back. If they complain to the police, they won't take them seriously. They will be threatened and tortured to withdraw their cases. In European countries rape and sexual assault can be punishable upto 99 years in prison if the victim is minor, disabled and if the crime is committed by regular offenders.

But in India death sentence is something that the rapist requires to be given to create fear in mind.😡🤬

I have also heard that the inmates of Tihar Jail detest and hate the rapist most and if they manage to know that the victim was a minor or died then they actually try to kill the criminal. In Nirbhaya's case the accused were very badly beaten by the tihar inmates.We need to send these politicians to Tihar Jail

We often feel that only uneducated people have such kind of thinking but see them...
If education and moral studies can't change a person's thinking then what can??
And if our leaders are like this then what will the people be like??

girl is overweight...oh no...shaadi kaun karega

same case here aswell...i mean..W*F...why is being raped, or being above 30, or being overweight, or being career focused or having darker skin a "defect" in women?

I fully agree with you. Never disputed what you just said.

Let me clarify what I meant and why I said the punishment for rape should not be stricter than murder.

If rape is punished equally or even more severely as murder, it will be a disaster. Rapists will murder the victims after raping them, if murder is made the smaller crime.

At least today they leave the victim alive since the sentence is 'only' 7 years. That way, at least the victim gets a second chance at life. If they make it just as 'bad' as murder, all those rapists will turn murderers. That way, inflicting the victim of double punishment, and denying them a second chance.

I know we're all very emotional about this. But let us not allow our emotions supersede logic.
