So damn true..Am not sure if we can blame the ppl anymore or ask them to choose wisely cos they literally have no bloody option..In a place like Tamil Nadu, anti-incumbency is like the single most prominent factor in elections cos ppl are just fed up of the current Govt. and go for the opposition just because they have no other option..And then the cycle continues..

@Red- Why shouldn't they be treated the same way like murder convicts. Sure life is not lost in rape but isn't tying a woman on a wooden platform and gang raping her in front of a whole village worse than killing the girl? Isn't inserting an iron rod into the privates of a girl and damaging the intestines worse than killing the girl?

A woman getting raped and having to live in a country like ours is thousand times more painful and soul-crushing than getting murdered. There is no sympathy for the victim at all...neither by the police, nor by the society and many a times, not even by her own family. What basically happens to a rape victim in India is not just physical and emotional damage, but also social ostracization. It is far worse than getting killed and hence, a rapist is just as bad if not worse than a murderer.

Now we cannot change the attitude of our society in a jiffy, what we can do is have stricter laws and invoke the fear of death / harshest possible punishment on the rapist, so that atleast that would deter future criminals from attempting something like that.

We cannot compare ourselves with Western Countries which have done away with harsher punishment for rapists, because our society is not like them. They don't treat their rape victims with righteous condemnation and blame the woman for the incidence, unlike in our society, as evidenced by Mulayam Singh and Abu Azmi's words!

Till we keep treating rape victims in a certain manner, its only fair that the rapist too should be subject to the same level of punishment.

The world is a mess all because of these rulers who are in government and we are the ones letting them -_-

Anyway, he should not about speaking about Islam without knowing it. No where in Quran, the only authentic source, says to kill a person for adultery. It says to lash the person 100 times for adultery/have sex and that too if the person is married and cheated/had sex. It is NOT for singles.

As for rape, it is not mentioned by name but by being general about such horrible crimes and how they should be punished.

Most muslims follow Hadiths which were written 200-300 years after the Prophet times, and those Hadiths contradict Quran which is the main and only reliable source. They themselves fight over Hadith and not sure if they are even authentic and because of it many sects have been introuduced . The Quran keep saying it is a complete book and not follow other source apart from this. Yet, they still follow and find a way to oppress women and all when they all are against Quran teachings. 🥱 And, God knows best.

HOW DARE HE! in islam in no way are women punished for being raped! oh god, these topics just make me boil because they twist islam...during our prophet muhamad pbuh times, there were men who had raped and they were killed but the women were left to live normal lives...this guy needs to be kicked in the ass

I wonder how Ayesha is allowed to publicly dismiss her father in law and express her disappointment in him on a platform like twitter. 😕 She has done it before too, if I recall correctly. I would imagine that she was probably told off the last time she did it (considering how regressive her in-laws are), but she still voices her opinion. 👍🏼
