What happens a lot of the times is that girls who don't see themselves as 'fit' don't jump at opportunities such as walking on a ramp in front of a large crowd. They become hesitant.

But if I had the opportunity to be on the same stage as Rani or Shahrukh, I'd jump at it instantly, not even caring what others thought of me. I would make that moment my moment. :)

Why do I feel some audition was done for this or they just handpicked some models and gave them "fans" ka tag.

Van Heusen is part of it they wont let short, overweight ones to showcase their clothes. They probably handpicked the tall and lookers from the contest.

Don't know if it is her height or her face, but put her in a crowd with similarly dressed people and she stands out. This is what is star power I suppose.

I can see her being g a business woman after her BW career slows down...
