star kids, if they have iota of talent, they get movies after movies after movies.

Look at Sonam, look at AB Jr.

and Look at so called actress Kareena. How many hits against how many flops??

And then look at kangna and how much she had to struggle .

offcourse they get it easy and way way easy.

If debut flops like the way sawaariya did, no outsider would get immediate offers like ranbir or sonam did.

Okay ranbir sustained because of talent after that. But look how much he got to choose from.

While a Yami gautam gets a total siyappa two years after VD.

Star kids do get a free pass intro Bollywood. Unlike many newcomers who have to struggle and audition, most get roles handed on a platter. Star kids also get meatier and good roles more easily. Newcomers have to do side roles or work with smaller production houses before they get a big break.

That being said it doesn't make their job of proving themselves easy. Many star kids have flopped or not reached the same heights as their parents. A bigger role means a bigger failure if you are not good. Screw up a big role, people remember for a long time.

Nepotism is not fair or justified. But it is the nature of the beast. When a star kid is brilliant, it doesn't justify nepotism. It just blunts the unfairness factor because they are deserving.

No one even mentioned him on this thread yet you guys took it upon themselves to defend him at the expense of mocking other forum member opinions. I get it, any criticism against ranbir and it either has to be a certain actress fans or someone whos against star kids. Its impossible otherwise to not like ranbir at all. Oh wait, it also could be some lesser mortals with judging and perceiving skills not at par with ranbir fans!

Yes they do but nepotism is a part of every industry not just Bollywood so we just have to eventually deal with it.

The topic was about star kids getting better opportunities and Ranbir is a star kid, so he was brought in?😕 Of course ppl are gonna take Ranbir's example while defending star kids right?😆 And no, i din drag any actress or her fans..Neither did i question anyone's intellect..I just mentioned how Ranbir's talent or achievements are questioned because he is a star kid..Am really sorry if you felt that way but no, Ranbir fans are not superior to anyone..Fans are fans at the end of the day and they'l obviously defend their favorites😆

I'll jump in here. Ranbir certainly has talent and has the smartness to make the best use of them.
But without his connections today he would be playing lead roles on bahu-beti shows on TV despite his talent.

Probably not..You never know..Am not denying the fact that he got it easy initially cos he is a star kid..If he were an outsider, he would have had it hard for sure..But what he achieved post that was due to his talent..You cant force ppl to root for you or like your films just because you are Raj Kapoor's grandson..Thats all am saying😆

Star kids, actually the most prominent ones, do get good chances initially but they have to prove themselves like any other newcomer.

They may get a few more chances even after their 1st film flops or doesn't work, but eventually they get booted out, if they do not bring any kind of value addition to the film - be it in terms of acting, in terms of look, in terms of being fashionable, in having a great screen presence, in terms of having a positive and strong personality et al.

Only in some cases, some of the star kids are lucky to survive due to sheer fate and luck, even when they are simply horrendous in terms of acting. Almost like fait accompli ...

My reply was based on below. So you think if someone says PC was better, they say so only becazse ranbir is a star kid and that person must hate star kids!? So thers really no chance for a normal sane person to like pc more than ranbir??

LOL Honestly i think FF is rigged too and don care even if Ranbir wins but the double standards amuse meThere is some sort of a reverse prejudice against star kids Its great if an outsider makes it in Bollywood but why discredit the talent of an actor just because he is a star kid? Btw, you got it wrong..Ranbir doesn't even have Barfi cos PC overshadowed him big time in that film
