if this is true, then better go for all fresh faces...it will be difficult to focus on character if the actor is an established one
n no deepika...enough of shuddhi / bm drama đŸ„±

I don't think popular actors will agree to be a part of this epic.. maybe one or two as Lord Krishna or Draupadi.. if all popular actors as cast in the role of the principal characters they will all demand a good amount of fees and the budget for casting itself will cross 100 crores. 😆 Add to that the constant squabbles over screen time and importance. Better to go with an all new cast.

I feel the idea of adapting Mahabharata in two films itself isn't a good idea.. Mahabharata is really long and detailed.. each character, even the 'side characters' so as to say, have their own story.. and everything joins in the end to play an important role in the battle of Kurukshetra. In fact, the BEAUTY of Mahabharata is about how every little thing in the past joins in to affect the battle, and how every little thing during and around the battle affected the future.. everything fits in like a perfect jigzaw puzzle.. THAT is what underlines the true essence of what Lord Krishna says in the Bhagawad Geeta that I am the past, present and future, whatever is happening is bcos of me and my plan and bcos there is a reason behind everything.. IMO a cinermatic rendition in just two films wouldn't do justice AT ALL... they will miss out on so many things.

We need Peter jackson first to make Mahabharat. Not possible else wise to capture its vast scale by anyone else.

Hrithik roshan as Arjuna 😊
Ranbir should be Krishna i think 😉
Deepika as Draupadi confirmed 😃
Aamir Khan - Yudhishtir
Salman as Bheem
Siddharth Malhotra as Nakula
SRK as Karna
Ranveer as Duryodhan

But i dont think it will be easy to show it properly it two parts.. I would like to see it properly with all the stories (which is impossible).. Atleast 5-6 parts will be needed 😆

This.

Also, it should on IMAX 3D. We can't afford it as of now.

A two part film cannot capture the detailed epic. Plus today's actors look too urban to fit in Mahabharat. No command over language to fit in period roles.
Makers rely too much on special effects than on layers that each character has, morally and psychologically.
