Bollywood movies & songs have constantly been blamed to copy from the West or even cinema from other parts of the world.

I personally see nothing wrong with copying because effort still needs to be put in to cast, to act, to direct and the hundreds of other departments. I don't get why people are so fixated and like to shout 'copy' all the time. What's wrong with copying? Does originality truly exist in cinema?
Your take?

They are constantly pressured to come up with new tunes. Bollywood is the LARGEST movie industry in the world in terms of the number of movies produced. It's not an easy task to come up with tunes concurrently on parallel projects. If you look at the 90s era, only a handful of the composers were running the show. Anu Malik, Nadeem-Shravan, etc were leading the race back then.

How do you expect them come up with fresh tunes for movies every now and then?

Copying is not wrong ..but saying that the idea as their own is wrong like...

Shah Rukh Khan copied JK Rowling's Harvard speech and said it's his own...is wrong

I am fine with Copying only till credit is being given!
Barfi did have some copied scenes but movie was beautiful... It was sad that they didn't give credit to deserved people initially! Anyways If credit is given I feel its gonna benefit the project as in whole, all allegations and controversies will die down

I understand inspiration. In all honesty nothing in this world is truly original. Everyone is inspired by one thing or another. Copying is fine as long as the original creator is given credit. Some of the best movies I have watched happened to be copied.

I guess because a segment of our people is familiar with Hollywood, we can say that the idea has been lifted or whatever.

But if you see, there is bound to be a repitition of ideas and thoughts and taking ideas as well. Its how you look at it.

I was looking for more information on a Paki actor Fawad Khan, and was amazed to stumble upon some posts on the Pak forums of IF itself, where they say BW is copying their films. lol

I didn't even know they had an industry and apparently its called Lollywood. And we copy from there.

So its kehne ki baat. 😆 Who knows whos copying from where. Everyone can say copied/my idea 1st/whatever. Frankly, it really doesn't matter to me.
