Madhuri is an overall performer who has her stronger forte in classical. But that doesn't mean that she can't pull off any other dance form. Yes, Madhuri is best at the classical dance. (It's Kuchipudi you're talking about).

I have a friend who has been on the DID platform who can gracefully carry off all dance forms, though she excels in one over the other. You can be a VERSATILE dancer. And I think Madhuri has it in her to do all dance forms effortless and with grace. Katrina is merely average. Dancing is all about expressing.

With the generation changing, dance forms change too. Classical has lost its place in the industry, while hip hop and other forms have emerged at the top. Katrina is also younger than Madhuri, so its unfair to put Madhuri in a position to match up to her.

If you gave her a dance like Kamli or Malang back in her prime days, she would have pulled it off a billion times better than Katrina. And I just asked my roommate this same thing, and she agrees.

Regardless, the focus of this topic is westernized dancing not classical; whether Madhuri can do a Malang or Kamli not, no one is talking about her classical dancing abilities and nobody is questioning it.
