The only actress that I think could have done Kamli is Priyanka .. but the song won't be as popular as it is with kat as kat name is associate with good dance number ..

Agree, Maduri dixit is perfect in Classical dance,kat have almost everything to made a Fabulous Dance she has looks,Charm,Personality sexyness even she doesn't speak Hindi Friquently she is no.1 in BW.
Maduri does dance Good but i dont think she can Dance better then Kat

I am not saying Madhuri isn't good. She was good in Que Sera Sera.. but usually a dancer has forms he is better at than others. Madhuri is better at Indian/Bollywood stuff while Katrina is better at HipHop. I remember when I met these Indian classical dancers.. I think they were into kuchisomething dance. They were amazing at their forte, but looked quite funny while doing Hip Hop with me. You need to develop or simply have this certain cool vibe, otherwise you won't look good performing Hip Hop moves.

"Ishq dance" is not something Madhuri could pull off even in her prime years. I am saying that purely from a trained Hip Hop dancer point of view. I can not imagine Madz b-boying.. even if she would succeed in learning the choreography, she would look weird doing it because of the facial expressions she naturally gives.

Hip Hop looks awful if you give too many expressions, while Indian classical forms look awful without it. There is lyrical hip hop where you CAN give expressions, but it's not necessary.

Okay I am done with my essay lol. If you still think Madhuri would do Kamli, or specifically "Ishq Dance", better in her prime years.. then I don't even know what to say anymore.

You basically stole the words out of my mouth. I agree word for word, Madhuri doesn't have the body language or that hip hop urban vibe to her to pull these kinds of dances off. If you show Key Sera Sera to non-Indians they will LAUGH at her, but if you show Kamli they will certainly appreciate it. This is something that I have actually done on multiple occasions so im sure of it. The west is not obsessed with expressions as much as Indians, but don't bother arguing with these people who clearly have no knowledge of dance and are hanging on to their childhood memories by clinging to this has-been

I got so many PM's for opening this topic and some of them are claiming "they will do whatever it takes to make Madhuri win this poll" Such juvenile and trivial behaviour, clearly the integrity of this poll is gone out the window. Just goes to show!

I had stated in another topic, that anyone who has even the slightest knowledge of dance will hold songs like Kamli/Malang to a higher regard than Madhuri's item number because there was a lot of technique and physical strength involved.

If you had the correct knowledge, then you would know that aerial acts are obviously more strenuous and require a higher degree of physicality than wearing 5kg ghunghros. Did I really have to point that out? You should obtain more knowledge before pointing fingers at others, because YOU are the misinformed one.

Regardless, the focus of this topic is westernized dancing not classical; whether Madhuri can do a Malang or Kamli not, no one is talking about her classical dancing abilities and nobody is questioning it.

she just doesn't have the sex appeal. Think she could pull of a chikni chameli only the dancing part though.
