He must diversify or leave, as of Bewakoofian results, I think Sonam was perfect for the role but not him., This role could have been done better by Imran or even Sushant,

I dont know why I keep seeing so many posts saying "when was he in the race"

Why would you think he isn't or wasnt? The guy beat Sid, Varun, and Arjun to the Debut Awards, and during the VD days he was heavily promoted and hyped up, its just it didn't last. He WAS considered one of the bright new actors, not sure why that's even being discussed and argued.

I am glad he is out of the race now! He was way too over-rated!

because he had only one hit. You need to prove yourself over and over again to be part of the race. Was Ranveer part of race before RL? No..because he gave one hit..BBB before RL. Now with Gunday he became part of the race.

Am not denying Ayushman is talented..but he was never in the race because like I said he was a one hit wonder.

Ranveer was considered an up and coming actor right from his first movie. His fan-base might have expanded largely in 2013, but he was always been hyped up.

Perhaps you misunderstood what I mean by "the race", I mean is he apart of the that new actors race, where all of them are trying to become superstars or icons. As you said he did give one hit, so at that time he was considered one of the candidates but he is clearly going nowhere.

I don't track who got the best debut awards but I can say with a certain amount of certainty Aamir and Salman Khan made unremarkable debuts. It was their second or third films like MPK and QSQT that truly launched them. Wonder what happened to the guys who won the debut awards the years Aamir and Salman made their debuts.

Anyways, the industry awards who they think has the most promising debut and it is very much tied to a film IMO. In Ayushmaan's case, it was the film or rather the topic that had the X factor, he was good but not memorable in it if you ask me. He also does not have the looks, screen presence or X factor to be a top hero. Contrast that with a Ranveer who is not that good looking but who has a screen presence and the X factor to be one. Or a Ranbir who even a divisive film like Saawariya could not drown. It is how the audience responded to them after they make their debuts, not the industry best debut awards that decides their future IMO. In my estimate Ayushmann is not a top hero, but he can certainly stick around for a long career if he plays his cards right.

I find him the decent of the lot. He is atleast good at whatever he does, let it be singing or acting unlike Sid, Varun or Arjun.

But I never really considered him to be in the race of the top young guns of Bollywood. He belongs more to the supporting cast group of actors( What I mean is , he is not a hero material).

I agree looks will sometimes take you far but how far depends on other factors.

Katrina's got great screen presence not just looks
And Salman was decent actor when he started that plus his looks took him far. Sid so far has nothing IMO

I don't know..I don't think Ranveer was always hyped up..after his second film flopped..everyone moved on from him. I think yes people might have thought Ranveer and Ayushman were looked at as actors who had bright futures..that's about it I guess..people were just waiting for what they are going to do next.
