I would had respected bwood if the awards were in the same level as oscars..Bwood awards these days feels like the kela awards..at one time filmfare was highly valued, sadly no more. The entertainment shown is very crass and not funny anymore! the fact that undeserving actors/actresses getting the awards also! i think it all started with Aamir who stopped attending and many others followed suit.

I agree with everyone except Shilpa Shukla!

if they would be even one percent close to the oscars then, Dhanush would win the best actor this year and nothing less than that ..

I agree... I've been brought up on Bollywood movies but these awards are just embarrassing at times. Films like Dabangg, Chennai Express and Bodyguard and countless others being nominated for best film is a laugh in itself. Its like the one or two good movies that make it to the nominations are only just formalities, to show that they are giving recognition to good work.

The awards like the films are just catering to what audience wants to see. Just how the masala films are filled with mar-dhaar, songs and dialogues to please audience, even the awards are that way, which actor do people want to see getting rewarded due to his popularity is given it. Though filmfare did get something right by awarding Shilpa Shukla and Rajkumar Rao in critics category.

The hosting: Saif-SRK are the best. I have to admit i liked Ranbir and Imran's 2 filmfare years as well. But Ranbir-Priyanka was just sooo boring. Ritesh-AB jr's behind the scenes gags were fun at ZCA. Rest are lack luster, the jokes are not even funny or original u probably already read them on twitter before. They should get Comedy Circus writers on it, atleast they would get funny and original jokes. There have been some not so good hosting in hollywood but Ellen hosting Oscars or Tina Fey and Amy Poelher in Golden globes were great. The stars down there are much more chilled, the kind of jokes they get towards them they genuinely seem to enjoy it (there is real laughter not the fake pre recorded crap that gets added durting edit). Over here SRK copies Manoj Kumar's style and ends up having a court case against him. W*F??

Sorry for the long rant but had a lot to say have lot more but will stop here. Thankyou TM for making this thread!

Not everyone can pull off as a good host. I hate when theytake cheap shots at people to make others laugh. Flop films are often made fun of at Filmfare despite the fact it was a good film

One of the few classy thing filmfare did recently was SRK's Broadway themedperformance for 100 years of Bolly

Have you seen Golden Globes for instance! Amy and other cohost (can remember name) used to take hell lot of shots at actors and everyone used to take in good spirit! Non of our actors can laugh of such jokes

In Oscars also Ellen made fun of Jennifer and one of actress she refered to as Male... No person was cribbing about it! Everyone was laughing

Also what is main problem with these awards is that they don't take themselves serious, then why will do stars !?? Like Oscars have been longest, most reputeted award ceremony and everytime each and every nominated person attends it!
Is the same here!?? NO... Only the person who is expecting to win comes and attend the function (in FF only Deepika was actress who was present)

Also I hate is fact stars have this fat ego! No one stands for winners, they all sit like dumb faces and look bored! LIKE atleast show some respect, atleast stand up...

Also the fact these awards are not Live brings down it's credibility!

Also I was happy with winners of FF this time but was most disappointing thing was that they got the first step of function wrong! NOMINATIONS!

And I have to agree with Nick, Twilight was top grosser!! Was that shit nominated in any of award function!??? Then why the hell films like CE and YJHD are being nominated and films like Lootera and Lunchbox being avoided! Biggest BC thing
