I hope she breaks the BW trend and continue being a sought after heroine in her 40s. If anyone can, It's Vidya as she doesn't have to be paired with superstars to give hits.

Problem is Bollywood is not like Hollywood where scripts are written with mature women's roles and have a ready audience. There aren't that many films made for overweight, married, post-35 heroines, no matter how talented they are. Kahaani and EV are outliers.. offbeat movies with heroine-centric themes (like What the fish with Dimple) do not generally do well in India.

That's the thing I hate the most, why does every movie with a 35+ actress have to be "offbeat", why cant there be mainstream films with older actresses? I believe its possible and I also believe the audience can accept such movies as long as its a good movie! I blame the storywriters, directors, producers for lacking creativity.

I have watched SKSE and from a paying viewer point of view it seems tough that this film will work at bo and will recover its 40 cr cost.

I guess Vidya has seen her peak from ishqiya, paa, TDP till Kahani and though she is a great performer I think her dcline is visible just like Rani Preity etc ... also age, wight and marriage factor are major obstacles for bollywood actresses whether we like it or not

Vidya is the kind of actress who does not need hits to have a career if her box office is not that great. Her off beat films may have made money, but she can also make a career like a Shabana Azmi

Plus she is married to Siddharth Roy Kapur. If she really wants to get a move made or act in one I don't think it will be dependent on her BO status unlike most other actresses.
