Shaadi Ke Side Effects movie review

Shaadi Ke Side Effects isn't an advanced version of marital issues but is still fun watching it out.
Cast-Farhan Akhtar, Vidya Balan
Director- Pritish Nandy
Music-Pritam
We have witnessed the effects of love in the prequel to this nuptial drama, but now its time to know some of the ground realities before you go ahead and enter into wedlock.
You will lose your freedom, will be taken for granted, will be less pampered, compelled to lower down your undue expenses and learn to say yes' and sorry' for every other thing you don't want to. Read the terms! Now if you are settled and have made-up your wits to walk over these harsh paths, then you are one of the toughest people on earth.
If you don't believe then watch out for one such couple whose life goes berserk prominently the male protagonist who is like a dummy with one single expression of frustration on his face.
Sid (Farhan Akhtar) is a happy go lucky guy enjoying his bachelorhood with his friend Vir Das but soon is hit by the cupid arrow and falls in love with Trisha (Vidya Balan). He enters into the marital life with the lady, unaware about how his life is going to be. The problem begins when a child is born and the love and affection between the two starts fading. Frustrated by this relation, Sid looks out for a piece of advice from his another friend Ram Kapoor. How he manages his life with those unscrupulous advices is what Pritish Nandy tells us with this drama.
Try to let her win at every stance and may you be the ultimate winner, said the director quiet hesitatingly during the trailer launch of Shaadi Ke Side Effects. He is a married man and has obviously witnessed the after effects of marriage. So, who could be a better narrator than him?
The director delicately takes the lives of such couple with loads of humour. It doesn't matter you are married or not, watching this onscreen couple will turn you heads up-down with a feeling such as yes it happens'.
You enjoy the frustration shown on the face of Farhan. You amusingly feel pity for his singlehood being slowly going away from him. But what you won't admire is the predictable screenplay, which doesn't offer you any different conclusion.
You would recall flicks like Luv Ka Punchnama' or No Entry' because some what similar are the solutions to the problems shown in this flick. But there is still plenty of fun with these two characters and supporting cast.
Vidya Balan seems loving the roles of dominant housewives. After Ghanchakkar', though is repetitive, but does a brilliant job.
Farhan Akhtar is amusingly great. Though, after Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, he has set a different level altogether for himself. But as his character requires, he does a fine justice to it.
Vir Das and Ram Kapoor are equally good.
More was expected from Pritam but one would love tracks like Harry's Not a Brahmachari and Rabba main shaadi karke. Background score is fine.
At last Shaadi Ke Side Effects isn't an advanced version of marital issues but is still fun watching it out.
