The problem is not that RL is overrated, it is. Heck even Ranveer thinks so 😆. It is that Lootera was underrated.

I still firmly believe this is Deepika's best performance till date. Her dialogue delivery and voice modulation out of all her films was best in Ramleela even better than Chennai Express. Very neatly solid performance by her but Leela the character was so ridiculous imo the worst character in the film, nothing about her made me like, sympathize or support Leela.



Ranveer's performance was equally good but there are scenes he went really over board something he too said while describing his performance - hammed as Ram in few scenes. For adding the gujju diction though I liked him lots.


But the film belonged to Supriya Pathak imo she was bloody brilliant! the best performer I hope she does more films in future.

I really enjoyed RL the first time I saw it and even rated it as one of my favorite movies of last year but I didn't find it to be as great the second time around . For a movie to have replay value, the story has to be good and that's were RL lacks unfortunately. It's a very lazy and uninspired adaptation of R&J. As usual SLB seemed more focused on the sets and costumes than the actual story at hand. Ranveer and DP's chemistry was amazing but I also felt like it was wasted big time. Their story could have been so much better with a little more depth and development. That being said, I'll still any day watch RL over Devdas and the majority of SLB's movies 😆.

- The both dying part( Bhabi could tell them that open the door mother has accepted your marriage)

You are not alone. Nobody gets Ram Leela.

They killed themselves coz they never came to know that her mom had accepted their relationship ! I agree the movie was a bit over rated but still I l loved Deepika's performance. She was the only watchable thing in that movie.

Those of you who are shocked by the ending of Ram-Leela clearly haven't read Romeo and Juliet. SLB promoted RL as the indian RJ. It wasn't a secret. The story of star crossed lovers that ends in tragedy. So why be disappointed over that when that's how the story will always end.

Your disappointment regarding any actors performance is your opinion and you're entitled to that.

I personally, loved RL mainly for the chemistry and the confrontation scene between RL. Supriya Pathak was great in it.
