Parineeti Chopras predicament

Parineeti Chopra has the hits. In an industry obsessed with success, she should be working in better projects, read films with bigger heroes. But that hasn't happened yet. While her contemporaries like Anushka Sharma, Nargis Fakhri and Shraddha Kapoor have worked with the Khans, Kapoors and the Kumars, Parineeti has been paired with new heroes like Sushant Singh Rajput and Siddharth Malhotra.

The big heroes are staying away. An industry veteran explains, "Parineeti sets the screen on fire with her sheer presence. She is a powerful performer and overshadows all her co-stars. And that is worrying for the heroes. Apart from that, she is known to choose meaty roles. No top actor will agree to do a film where the actress is the protagonist. So unfortunately, she is losing out. She is paying the price for having an overpowering screen presence and delivering power-packed performances.

"Oh! No! No! Please don't say that! It's not true," she laughs. "I have worked with some great co-actors who have also won awards. Yes, there is one big star I haven't yet worked with but would love to and that is Ranbir Kapoor. I am a huge fan of his and I know it would be so much fun to act with him as it's good to have a powerful co-star opposite you matching you in your acting line by line, shot by shot."
