Is Farhan's BMB performance overrated? - Page 3

The only thing they had worked in BMB was on Farhan physique as an athlete. Otherwise film was quite tiring after some time...its understandable that it was a biopic but still deviated for 45 minutes 🥱..its way too disturbing..that made me restless on my seat in theatre..i thought it was only me..but almost everyone was getting annoyed in theatre..and I would prefer that kid milkha in terms of acting instead screechy accent of Farhan..the emotional scene was so bad that everyone started laughing in theatre..it was bad ...may be in general it was a popular movie as no other movie ever came up on Milkha, so award has gone to BMB and him.. 😳

Yes. The performance is totally overrated. It was superficial. I love Farhan, but all he managed to do was LOOK like Milkha. He didn't "feel" it. The film was overrated too. I expected better.

The best performance I saw last year was without any competition Dhanush. Period.

The only film I missed was Shahid/The Lunchbox I think.

Exactly, it's a SUPERFICIAL performance and frankly a superficial FILM on MANY levels...the scene that someone mentioned on the first page when Milkha breaks down on returning to his village...that was the moment of reckoning for Farhan and he totally failed to deliver...it was SUCH a HAMMY performance from him...Farhan is an OK actor to begin with...histrionics are not his strong suit...he only managed to LOOK Milkha, not BECOME Milkha.

In a fair world, Dhanush deserves best actor this year, hands down...none of the other performances were even in the same STRATOSPHERE as him...lol but they give him best debut😆...ofcourse they would...Farhan ko butter up kar ke best actor jo dena tha😆

I also agree that ROM has done better than BMB...heck this might be an unpopular opinion but Delhi 6 was a much better movie than BMB imo...especially in terms of SUBTEXT and NUANCED performances.


I've seen Lunchnbox...Irfan was very good but I'd still pick Dhanush over him for this year...Nawazuddin is the scene stealer of Lunchbox and he was justly rewarded.

Haha what a co-incidence, Pals...I just mentioned Delhi-6 in my post too...I think that was a MUCH better than BMB too...but most ppl probably won't think so...and ROM himself will probably churn out more superficial stuff since he's tasted success with BMB and failure with D6.

When Naseerudin Shah said that it was a bad performance, most people on IF were hating on him. But I guess now some of you guys understand what I've been saying all along. It was an OVERRATED performance. He deserved a best actor nomination at most, not a win. If this was the Oscars, he wouldn't even be nominated let alone get critical appreciation.
