They both hail from illustrious film families, have elder sisters who have been successful actors and are famous for their fashion sense. But that isn't where the similarities between Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt end.

Thanks to her expressions, body language, manner of talking and even the way she looks, the young actor finds herself being compared to Kareena frequently.

Ask Kareena if she's been watching Alia's career progress and she says, "No, I'm not keeping track. Karan (Johar; film-maker-TV show host) also said something on his show, and I was like, 'Really?' But as of now, I'm just keeping track of what I'm doing, where I'm going or what Saif (Ali Khan; actor-husband) is doing. I can't be keeping track of what everyone else is doing."

So is she aware of what youngsters like Alia have been up to? "I don't watch many Hindi movies, but now, we (Saif and I) have made a pact that we'll watch a lot of Hindi movies, just to know what's happening and to see what kind of films (are being made) and not for any other reason," says Kareena.

The Gori Tere Pyaar Mein actor also denies seeing younger actresses as competition. "It's a circle of life. When I came in, Lolo (Karisma Kapoor; actor-sister) was at her peak. It's inevitable; you should just do good work and stand for what you believe in," says Kareena, who is currently on her annual vacation in Switzerland with Saif.

Once she is back, Kareena is set to take up Dev Benegal's Bombay Samurai with Farhan Akhtar and Rohit Shetty's Singham 2 with Ajay Devgn.

Actress Kareena Kapoor, who is rumoured to have been roped in to play writer Amrita Pritam in a biopic on legendary Urdu poet Sahir Ludhianvi, says she is still reading the script of the project.

The film is reportedly based on the romance between Ludhianvi and Pritam. Ludhianvi's role is said to have been taken on by Farhan Akhtar.

"I have got the script of this film and I am still reading it. I have liked it so far, so let's see," Kareena told IANS.
