If you are a die-hard Aamir Khan or SRK fan then please understand that I'm also a fan and that my intention is not to bash either one of them on this forum. I'm simply speaking my mind and expressing my opinion as a viewer.
So I just finished watching Dhoom 3 and I have to admit that I'm not impressed. There were many flaws in the movie but what really left me shocked was Aamir Khan's performance in the movie. I honestly couldn't believe what I was seeing. All throughout the movie, it was clear to me that Aamir Khan has either forgotten his craft or that he was never as good as we all thought he was. His facial expressions as Sahir seemed forced and his dialogue delivery was flat out horrible. His acting as Samar seemed more like a terribly performed spoof than an actual performance. But Aamir isn't the only Khan who's performance left me upset as a cine-goer. Shahrukh Khan also put on one of the crappiest performances of the year in Chennai Express. In fact, his performance and the film itself were so bad that I left the theater during the interval and never came back. What's really sad is that these two are supposed to be two of the finest actors in the country and when they attempted to do different types of roles in these films, they both failed miserably. I feel as if ever since 3 idiots, Aamir has lost his charm and same with SRK and My Name is Khan. All I can say now is thank god for this new generation of actors (Ranbir, Ranveer, Shahid etc). At such a young age, they are already ahead of SRK, Aamir, and Salman when it comes to versatility, dancing, and script sense. Now hopefully they can achieve super-stardom and use it over the years to put on great performances in amazing films. 😊
