I know what you mean. Both Aamir and SRK did D3 and CE for BO numbers and nothing else for sure. More than Aamir, it's SRK that I get mad at for crappy movie choices. Luckily Raees is happening for him and I'm relieved cuz it's been a really long time since he did a sensible movie with a good script

can we really blame SRK and Aamir...SRK has been written off when he didn't give a single blockbuster since 2008...he tried to experiment with billu and MNIK but experiments in bollywood don't work for superstars..people are not interested in creativity. the masses don't care.
commercial gain. money..numbers these matters. entertainment that is all about. SRK chose that path finally and gave CE. aamir succumbed to it as well...and salman was already there.

people say don't blame the audiences...then who is to blame...what u see is what u get..

cinema is not just about entertainment but art as well...the day this world realizes. things would definitely change...till then let's stop blaming others.

*Sigh* you are right

I think SRK should balance his movie genres and this time he made the call correctly by doing HNY along side Raees and that YRF flick. As for Aamir, he has by far selected good scripts barring D3 in recent times. Salman is all about masala flicks and I doubt his fans expect him to do anything new or experimental

I think the TM is talking more about acting than only script choices.

And I agree.

SRK the actor was totally lost since he became King Khan.

Aamir's comic timing and serious performances were in different class altogether till DCH. His eyes alone would speak volumes (and he didn't have to glare or snarl to convey seriousness).

Salman is also trapped in image now. I liked him much better as an actor till 1999. After that he has only Tere Naam as something special. And to some extent Phir Milenge.

I think somewhere we also, as audience become used to actors' styles and start finding them predictable.

But there's no denying that the Khans are less natural now. When they try something different then also they seem like they're trying too hard (except Salman in Dabangg, he was surprisingly effortless in playing a smalltown cop).

I think they'll disappoint as actors as long as they try to stick to star status and keep trying to pass off as young. Like much of late 80s stuff done by Amitabh is unbearable.

Acting-wise they can do better only if they try something new and no longer worry about rankings or brand value or image. They have to be comfortable in their own skin.

I didn't go to theatres for CE or D3. Watched CE on TV and found it pathetic. SRK might have got records but acting-wise he was hamming like no tomorrow. No idea how'll Aamir be in D3.

Not yet watched the movie, so yet to judge if the movie was good or bad. but yes as An aamir Khan fan and a lover of the quality films he did like Lagaan, TZP, DCH and RDB.. I was not happy that he was doing a film like Dhoom...but i have friends who have watched the movie and liked it...and many have liked his performance..mind you, they are not die hard fans, just neutral moviegoers!!
I do feel though he is not the same actor as before...his acting has not been like what it used to be before..i think he shud get into direction now!!
As for SRK, never liked him..but found him real charming in CE!! whole lot better than what he did Jab tak.. and Don2 IMO!!!

I don't see how srk was bad in CE...he justified the role as it was meant to be ...its a masala , what is he supposed to do exactly? 😆
