It's great that you enjoyed R...Rajkumar with your brain in tow. It's always better in fact when your brain can also be among the organs which enjoy a recreational activity. I think I can definitely also say that you are not the only person who enjoyed it, just as there were others who didn't. Both are equally entitled to voicing their opinions.
Ram Leela is not a great example of a movie that was loved by critics. It is perceived as well-received not because of its story, but because of the overall content (let us call them visuals because SLB) and the numbers that it did at the box office. It was critically average or decent at most, and nothing to write home about unless you were an avid fan of one of the two main actors, whom I'm sure did write home about it like all fans do.
That people did not get bored for even one second: that is your personal opinion because I'm sure there were people who not only got bored but even suffered some harm to their psychology as Rajeev Masand seemed to have expressed in one of his tweets.
I do not speak on the forum for anyone else as there are all kinds here who do all types of things, but you can rest assured that I think very similarly of other people who place $$$ ahead of everything else in this industry as I have expressed of Sonakshi and I have never been among those who have clocked Shahid or as a matter of fact, anyone whose movie(s) have not done financially well. Simply put, I do not diss on the basis of $$$. But I care and do speak about people's performance, potential or talent.
Conclusion: I hate to say it because I'm neutral on Shahid and it's great to see the hopes you all had from R...Rajkumar come to fruition, but you guys do not have to defend Shahid or the movie that he was a part of by defending Sonakshi's insensible statement by extension. What she said can stand independently without reflecting on him or the movie and she is the only one who is at and should rightfully be at the receiving end of the reactions or comments about what she said.
