In fact, even Dhoom 3 was somewhat always meant to be SRK's. Since 2006, I have heard SRK talking about probably doing it and how Adi plans to make it. Even Karan Johar mentioned it in a few instances how SRK would be doing Dhoom 3.But I think when it came to doing the 3 projects (ETT, JTHJ,Dhoom 3), both Yash Chopra and Adi wanted Shah to be in Yash Chopra's directorial instead.
