I also do agree with your point about critics going overboard about her. Same applies to SSR too. For some reason all critics behave in unison as if these two are the best thing that happenned to BW. I think its too premature to say that.

It is just as arguable that parineeti's reputation of being a "true blue performer" also comes from the so called "media hype" created by critics who try to shove her down people's throats like a member previously stated, by projecting her as the best actress of this generation...the film critics and journolists are also part of "the media"...

and im arguing that it isnt the case...there are plenty of other actors and actresses in her generation like anushka or her other co actors mentioned in the original post, who have a more engaging screen presence and arguably perform better, but are never given the kind of red carpet treatment that parineeti gets with the critics who can, also be clumped into the media FYI.

Anushka is brilliant aswell but Anushka has been here for 5 years now and is still doing the same role in different films. Parineeti has only been in the industry for 2 years...! we can't say she does the same role after just 2 years into career. Anyway parnieeti is better than some of the other new girls, such as alia bhatt, esha gupta. And as for her national award, hey if saif ali khan can get one for hum tum then I suppose anyone can LOL

P.S. The only actress who can be accused of doing the same bloody role is sonakshi sinha...! excluding lootera, all her films have her playing the same role!

I loved her in Ishaqzaade, never watched LVRB and everything about SDR was so bad, including her. I'm looking forward to HTP coming February, she has a mature subdued role in the movie from what I've heard. 😛

She has only been in 2 full length roles and a small side role. How do you say someone is over-rated based on this short a career? And comparing her to Anushka? Anushka is much more senior to her and has a much longer filmography.
Parineeti go a National award in her third film. This was not pushed by for-sale critics. How do we lay all the blame on overenthusiastic critics in trying to push Parineeti down our throats? I think she is the brightest star for the future and it is downright ridiculous to say that we all know how her future roles will be based on her 2 and half film career

its not the montony in the roles that bothers me...which is exactly why i brought anushka into the discussion...she does the same roles, so does sonakshi...but i find these two way more engaging and interesting to watch than parineeti...even if they are doing the same stuff, because their screen presence and capabilities seem genuine, whereas parineeti's seems "put on"...to me atleast...

maybe you find sonakshi more engaging and interesting because she ultimately has a 20 minute role in most of her movies, lol and anushka, anyone would find her more interesting if she's paired opposite ranveer singh, imran khan and katrina kaif the latter two can't even act!

but thts the thing...i do not think shes the brightest star for the future...the newbies are all extremely talented and i dunt consider parineeti the best amongst them...all those lovely acting capabilities that the critics and the national award authorities saw, i just dont see it. simple...
