She DID have a dream launch from one of the BIG production house and also have many opportunities coz she is PC Sr sister who is a self made star.

If anyone who deserves the credit of not having dream launch yet making it big in BW it has to be Katrina and PC Sr

katrina does not deserve a dream launch, the girl can't act to save her life! Yes yrf launched pari but she had small role. There were three other girls in that role and she was one of the supporting characters. I don't think that is a dream launch!

Not at all!

If anything, she's underrated.

She's not a media wh**e, no affairs, no W*F statements to stay in the news and no PR gimmicks. The girl just comes and does her work and goes home. So hardly anybody talks about her.

Overrated are stars made by the media like a Kareena Kapoor. Parineeta is a true blue performer who lights up the screen and lets her work do all the talking.

LOL, your feelings towards Parineeti is the same how I feel about DP. Every time a her movie trailer comes, she looks impressive, and I can't wait to watch it. But when I watch it, there's nothing so impressive as it looked in the trailer plus the hype this forum creates about her makes me even more annoyed lol! But as for pareenti, I don't know. So far, the movies I watched of hers, I always loved her the most or equal to the male co-star. For some reason, she overshadowes other actors' performances in the movie for me.

I think she's really good actress.

err yeah...i aint discussing her offscreen image, what she does to get films or how active her PR is any of that sort...im purely discussing how she comes across onscreen and the way she performs her roles, which i find her overrated for...i find her overrated as a PERFORMER, not a STAR because she isnt one yet anyway...i dunt think she lights up the screen and all the verve comes across as artificial to me.

It is just as arguable that parineeti's reputation of being a "true blue performer" also comes from the so called "media hype" created by critics who try to shove her down people's throats like a member previously stated, by projecting her as the best actress of this generation...the film critics and journolists are also part of "the media"...

and im arguing that it isnt the case...there are plenty of other actors and actresses in her generation like anushka or her other co actors mentioned in the original post, who have a more engaging screen presence and arguably perform better, but are never given the kind of red carpet treatment that parineeti gets with the critics who can, also be clumped into the media FYI.

Exactly! I love the characters she choose to play. I haven't watched SDR, but her character in LVB and Ishqzade were strong, not just flower pots or weak women type. I love how she was shown strong in both.
