The jodi was not controversial when the film released...in fact, there were just rumors about their affair...it became controversial when Ash and Salman broke up! I don't think their off-screen pairing had much to do with the fate of HDDCS.

HDDCS, irrespecitive of its box-office fate, is one of those films which fall under the 'classics' category...people always remember it fondly and the legacy lasts much longer than many of the so-called blockbuster films which rake in moolah.

That might be the reason, why directors like Mani Ratnam and SLB, who have given more flops than hits are still considered 'big directors', in comparison to many others who have made commercially successful films, but don't have any legacy behind them.

@Kitkataha,

I have no idea how much this film is going to make in numbers! But I am supporting it and would deffo like to see it become a clean hit! Just like a sports fan wanting to see his or her fav team win, no matter how good or bad their game is!

PS: I can make one guess...it will open between 10 to 15 crores on Friday...uske baad, bhagwaan malik hai!

If the movie gets the "semi-hit" tag, majority of the people will be happy because they aren't even expecting THAT.😆

According to the haters of the film, anything less than a 100 Crore would put the film in the flop category.

According to the fans, anything above 50 Crores would be fine!

Realistically, I think anything in the range of 80 Crores, plus and minus 5, would be considered a clean hit.

Thanks Poppy.. ! 85 is attainable and with 3000 screens its very much possible if the film content-wise doesn't suck real bad. 😊
