Filmmakers in Bollywood are more possessive about their proteges than they are about their girlfriends. Industry reports indicate that such a scene is being played out between Abhishek Kapoor and Aditya Chopra over Sushant Singh Rajput. Abhishek gave Sushant a break in Kai Po Cheand then signed him for Fitoor opposite Katrina Kaif. When Ekta Kapoor stepped in to finance the project, Abhishek reportedly recommended that she pay a newbie like Sushant '4 crore. She obviously disagreed. In short, Abhishek did everything to promote his protege.
Now, we hear that Adi, who worked with Sushant in Shuddh Desi Romance and has signed him on for Shekhar Kapur's Paani, is starting to get possessive about SSR. And, as is the case with the big daddies of cinema, he is demanding. Of course, all the parties concerned continue to pretend that there is no stress. But one hears from the trade that as Adi's dependence on Sushant increases, the young actor is finding it hard to maintain a balance between his two godfathers.
According to a statement released by Sushant's official spokesperson, the actor opted out of Fitoorbecause it now clashes with Paani's schedule. This whole Adi-Abhishek war over Sushant sounds like the script of a Bollywood bestseller, na? That too original and not a south remake.
