Yes, JTHJ is a shame... for Yash Chopra, for Aditya, for Yash Raj films, for Srk.

It just didn't work and has no repeat quality. I bought the DVD to see the film and it was a waste of my hard earned money.

In the beginning, I just blamed Kat. But really it was the Story+Kat+Srk that sucked. Intentions were good but they couldn't pull it off.

Reductive means not being original, doing the same crap over and over again. 😉

Never liked any Yash Chopra movie (Save Kala Patthar & Trishul). Find them mediocre & mawkish. JTHJ was just another mediocre mawkish Yash Chopra film for me. Watched it for I thought it would cure my insomnia. But, it was my bad day... even that movie failed to bring ninni on my eyes.

About that film: As I didn't hope I'd watch something great, there was no room for disappointment. I took that movie as those time-pass rom-(bore)com type Disney movies being made during Christmas time for family-audience*.

No regrets.

*Kiss/peck/smooch/EMA/sitting on boner... these are okay for HW family movies, right?

I do to regret seeing it. I think people are going a little overboard with all that hate. I'm glad I saw it for Yashji. It was his last piece of work. And the only good thing were some of the songs and Shahrukh-Anushka.

I watched it for the second time once the cable guys put it on!

it was more fun watching it at home with a friend of mine! we kept on making fun of it- especially anushka's clothes and OTT acting! she was cringe worthy! and the scene where srk sees anu for the first time in London- W*F was he wearing HAHAHAH! it was fun criticizing them all and enjoying with some sheesha and chai but in cinema wasting your money was like a torture!!

but this movie SUCKED!

it was a pure torture to those who went with any expectations!

and that's when I realized aamir is the baap of khans- even if talaash under performed it had something to keep you intrigued! aamir hardly ever lets you down with content which Is why I am totally up for D3!

Honestly, one of the worst movies of SRK. I still haven't watched CE, so this opinion may change. 😆 Although, SRK has been my fav actor since I was a kid, but of late his movies are just not as great [content wise]. I think the last movie of his that I really enjoyed was MNIK and CDI. But can't help it, he's still one of my fav actors.

For me, the only saving grace was Anushka (even w/her repetitive bubbly character). At one point I was rooting for Anu and SRK. Nothing against Katrina but just didn't like her pairing with SRK. And SRK was going completely OTT. Just a really bad movie. I liked the songs though, so that's a plus... I guess.

I miss Yash Chopra's old movies like Veer-Zaara. Now that is a movie I can watch any day any time! A classic, IMO.

JTJH wasn't a bad movie...in hindisght. It's has a unusual plot and it's refreshing b/c it's a story that hasn't been really told before.

SRK wins. He is so charming and his transformation is very consistent and good.

Anushka stole the show for me.

Miscast: Katrina. Why?! B/c Meera is suppose to age and I imagine as a woman that lost the love of her life, she be more tired from life and look more sad, simpler and older. I wish they had cast Kajol, Rani, Aish, Juhi, etc for that role. If SRK is aging then why not the heroine too?! Plus I think the senior actresses would add more depth for the post-leap Meera than Katrina did.

All in all, like someone said I don't think Yashji (RIP) wanted this to be his legacy or his last film but honestly these posts are so trite. Let's more on. Not every film is everyone's cup of tea but we don't see so many what went wrong this Akki movie his Salman movie every 2 weeks. 😆

I think the lack of romance from this film was made up in CE...his chemistry with Deepika was exquisite and Titli did for me what Saans couldn't.
