A report in a section of the media claiming Ranbir Kapoor would be proposing to Katrina Kaif on his birthday(September 28) has Katrina in splits.

The actress who returned to Mumbai on Thursday hasn't stopped laughing.

Says a close friend of the actress, "Where does such news' originate from? And what does it mean? Why would any guy propose to a girl on HIS birthday? Wouldn't it make more sense to do something of this sort on the girl's birthday?"

The friend reiterates that there is no marriage on the cards for Katrina.

"Who is spreading these rumours about Katrina gearing up for marriage? And what do these people stand to gain by these rumours? Katrina is not the kind to hide something like marriage. She is very family-oriented. The day she finds the man she wants to settle down with she won't hesitate for a minute to give up her career and rush towards marriage and motherhood...In fact Katrina just came back from her sister's wedding and saw how happy the girl was in her new life.Katrina too hopes for some of that happiness," says the friend.

Why is Katrina playing ping-pong with the media? First release an article claiming it, then release another one retracting it.

Subhash K Jha is the personal mouth piece of stars. He did all their PR work before professional PR agencies came into the picture. Big B is his most loyal and most well known client.

Speaking of Katrina, how do her personal pictures always make it to the media? The actress insists she is a private person but it sure looks like her over-active PR machinery is hell bent on flashing personal moments too. First, it was the infamous bikini shots from a holiday and now pictures of her posing as a bridesmaid at her sister's wedding. Now none of Kat's sisters live in India or are remotely connected to Bollywood, so unless Kat released those pictures herself, they surely couldn't have made it to the media. So, the actress should stop pretending to crib and accept the fact that she too is craving for some publicity.
