Satyagraha: 1st Monday Box Office Collections

It seems the audiences are really liking Prakash Jha's socio-political drama Satyagraha, as the film continued to earn stably at the Domestic Box Office yesterday. Yes, the film saw a drop in its collections but that's a normal Monday drop that is witnessed every week.

Satyagraha managed to collect approx 5.10 crores on its 1st Monday, taking its domestic total to 44.10 crores at the Box Office. The film performed well in CI and Delhi/UP circuits.

With this, the movie is slowly heading towards the Top 10 Highest Grossing Films Of 2013 List.Satyagraha will surely evict Kai Po Che! from the list, which has earned 50 crores nett, before the completion of its 1st Week run at the Box Office.

Satyagraha Drops On Monday

Satyagraha had a bigger than normal drop on Monday as it grossed around 4.25 crore nett taking the four day business to around 38.50 crore nett. The drop from Friday is around 55%. The film is looking to collect around 48 crore nett in its first week which is low.

The film even dropped more than 50% in CI which makes it a huge struggle for the film because if one circuit had a chance it was CI because the film is set in Madhya Pradesh and most of that state is in the CI circuit.

The drop was universal with Delhi/UP circuit holding up a bit better that the rest but that is the norm for Monday. The film will find it tough going in week two with two new releases and a decent final number which looked possible after the weekend can be ruled out now.

Q. Does Satyagraha have any chance of being a hit or super hit?

A. Not really the opening was not good enough, although it trended well it had to a little more. It won't be a hit.

the first real test for the film is mondey and the film fail to pass it abd collect good not the trend on weekdays will not be good so the film will flop

Satyagraha on Tuesday has collected around 4-4.25 crore nett as per estimates. Film had a drop of 15-20% from Monday. Although film had a decent first weekend at box office, but it is having drop on weekdays. Satyagraha total collection after 5 days is around 48.2 crore nett.

Film is heading for a first week of 55 crore nett. Film collections are little bit disappointing in weekdays and could have been better. It looks as if now film will struggle to touch even 80 crore nett mark. Before the release there was a chance of 100 crore, but now that is a distant dream. Film realistic chance is now to cross 60 crore nett and at most collecting around 70 crore nett in its lifetime from early trends. Also, there are two important releases next week and it is to be seen whether Satyagraha will manage to have some kind of significant screens or not.

Collection Breakup -

Friday - 11 crore nett.

Saturday - 13.1 crore nett.
Sunday - 14.85 crore nett.
Monday - 5 crore nett.
Tuesday - 4-4.25 crore nett (Estimates).

Total - 48.2 crore nett.
