I guess both. I loved most of the movies which Sunny Deol did. He had his own fan following. Of course the extreme patriotism worked too. Songs were a rage too. Amisha Patel had a recent hit in the form of KNPH. So all worked in the favor of the movie. Personally I loved the movie but Its only when I came to this forum that I learnt quiet a few ppl were offended by the way they have portrayed Pakistan/is.

I was just going through this thread and the way people change colors here is just amazing. Personally, neither do I care about these records nor do I have much knowledge about them but lately I had seen a lot of posts talking about records and making fun of SRK and his star-power. So I'm very glad he shut everyone up. I know CE can't be compared to 3 Idiots neither am I going to do so and I don't think any SRK fan has done that either ( well I haven't seen any post comparing the two movies content wise). In any other case, I wouldn't have been happy with CE breaking 3 Idiots record ( I dunno if it did or not but I heard it did) but in this case, I'm extremely happy. SRK needed this to shut everyone up! Records are meant to be broken and I'm sure some other movie will break CE's records. I don't care if any movie breaks CE's records tomorrow but the fact stays CE broke so many records and so many people have been proven wrong! No one's saying CE will be remembered for years but similarly, how many of Salman's movies will be remembered for many years to come? Bodyguard, Ready, ETT? But still Salman fans always talk about his records. Now when SRK fans are doing the same, they are getting lectures. Double standards much? Anyways after going through low phase for sometime, SRK and SRK fans deserve to celebrate. 👏
