Shes YRFs new blue-eyed girl. Vaani Kapoor who makes her debut with Shuddh Desi Romance has also been signed for the South remake of Band Baaja Baaraat, even before her first release. As we catch up with her at Yashraj studios the actress admits that she is nervous as her film nears release. Introducing herself the actress says, There are two things I love-food and cats. Career wise, I started out as a commerce student then worked at the Oberoi hotels but soon realized that wasnt something I wanted to do. I did modeling just because I made good money and got to shop a lot but then modeling cannot be a long-term career. I auditioned a lot before I got Shuddh Desi Romance. Maneesh Sharma would call me for a meeting and suddenly ask me to enact some scene. When I finally got selected it was a big relief.
Vaani admits that she often gets jittery but she has complete support from her family. She says, My sister is married and settled in Australia, she has always been the intelligent and smart one. The rest of my family is in Delhi. During the shoot I would often feel that Im not looking good or I havent performed well but my family would reprimand me saying that I should be happy Im getting to debut with Yashraj, rather than cribbing all the time.
Ask her about memories from the shoot of SDR and she smiles, Sushant Singh Rajput is reserved so it took some time to break the ice. We had a small party after we wrapped up the first schedule and I cant forget Manish dancing to Dhak Dhak Karne Laga.
The actress though excited is also nervous about her South film that she will soon start shooting. I am nervous for two reasons, one that I loved the original and Anushka Sharma had performed brilliantly in the original. Secondly the language is alien to me and I need to do justice to it.
