Sathyaraj: 'SRK is B'wood's MGR'
DC | Deepika Ramesh | 11 hours 5 min ago'Ennamma Kannu' has become the favourite mode of greeting for many, who watched 'Chennai Express', including non-Tamil speaking audiences. Actor Sathyaraj, who has uttered the soft-spoken line in many of his films, is now basking in the success of his Bollywood debut, 'Chennai Express'. King Khan tweeted Sibiraj, son of actor Sathyaraj, saying that his dad was a rock star, and to thank him on his behalf. Sathyaraj completely credits Shahrukh Khan for helping him out an putting him at ease during the shoot. "Sibi told me about SRK's kind gesture. More than acting in a Hindi film for the first time, I was excited to be part of an SRK film. I've watched all his films. SRK is hardworking and h hardworking and humble," says Sathyaraj.
While talking about the experience of working with Shahrukh, Sathyaraj recalls some incidents that occurred during the shoot. "In the climax scene, Shahrukh had to deliver a lengthy dialogue. Silently, I waited to see how he was going to perform. When we rehearsed the very first time itself, he went into it full swing. I have never seen anybody giving their best during rehearsals. But he proved that he is a versatile actor by giving a terrific performance when we were only rehearsing. I confess that I don't exhaust all my energies when we practise. But he is quite thorough in everything that he does," reveals Sathyaraj.
To travel from the caravan to the sets, when the crew opted for a car, Sathyaraj says that SRK always came on the bike that he used in the movie. "He slipped into the character so completely that he refused to come with us in the car. I have also noticed that he is a generous person. Although he hasn't told me (what he contributes to), I have been told that he does a lot of charity work. For instance, all actors give some money to the actor who acts as our double to do our stunts. But when the guy, who did a stunt for SRK, finished his shot, Shahrukh hugged him and gave him a cover that had cash. Though I can't reveal how much the cover had, I know it was an unimaginable amount with which that supporting actor can settle down with for life. I don't think he will come back to act. SRK has a big heart. I think he is the MGR of B'wood," laughs Sathyaraj.
Charity is done from heart...Proud of SRK
