Chennai Express!

I love it when a movie becomes a pleasant surprise- entered the hall with absolutely zero expectations. Was like, okay SRK is old, Deepika looks like regular eye-candy fare again, comedy seems hella slapstick from trailers, 1234 and Lungi Dance are ugly songs, lets just not think too much about it.

But dang! haha it's a out and out family entertainer. Lots of cute comedy, although a lot of it is corny, it's very very cute. Jokes kids would prolly love. Loved the old references to SRK songs/movies, and especially enjoyed the song conversations lool. Deepika actually did really well in those

What surprised me was how much I cried =( Or Maybe i'm just extremely sensitive lool. but the emotional bits of the movie kind of got to me! The backstory of SRK's grandfather was quite sweet, but I really really reaaally felt for SRK and Deepika's love angle for some reason, especially around the Tera Rasta Main Chhodoon Na track, the seperation and the fear of it was something I guess I can really relate to. Had proper tears rolling down my face, and I didn't think I'd have to do that for any other reason but out of haterade for the movie lool

Was NIIICEEE seeing SRK back in his good old silly avatar. He's best when he isn't taking himself too seriously, and this movie was the perfect example. Deepika was actually really funny too!

Definitely recommend this =)

Here are my 2 cents

I got on the train and expected a silly story mixed with laughter full hyper OTTness and my expectations were fulfilled. Yes, the Rothit Shetty's style romantic story was super silly, situations were full of flaws but yet it did not disappoint the money and time spent on the movie. Being a hyper SRK buff I tend to feel being cheated by the superstar in the recent past by the time I leave the theater but for a change I could not wipe the smile off my face

The best thing about the movie to me is Deepika, for she has excelled as an actress to a point where you believe in her character. SRK was funny and went overboard in certain scenes but not Deepika

This is not a must watch but I will definitely recommend this for a fab time pass. This is a good stress buster if you can't locate your smile

And btw I'm planning to catch the train again 😆

Just got back from the movie, I'll try to keep this short since I need to get some sleep because I have to get up early tomorrow 😆

All I can say is, WOW! What a movie! No it wasnt an Oscar worthy film, nor was it ever intended to be. All all out and out family entertainer that delivers on every single meaningful masala category. It is a laugh riot, action packed at the right times, and a very adorable, mature love story!

SRK is back to his Main Hoon Na self, playing a older, mature man who has his silly moments. He plays the role to perfection, and you can see he is just having a blast extremely, comfortable at it. Deepika was just a pleasure to watch, her attention to her dialogue delivery was absolutely fabulous. Almost every dialogue she says is perfection, her comedy dialogue are rib tickling! And Rohit Shetty, hes proven again that he has the golden touch. 4 straight BIG movies and the man just knows how to connect with the audience and give them what they really want. His movies are not something critics love, but the masses do! At the end of the day, thats what matters.

The songs are situational, sound much better in the film than they do just listening them regularly. Locations and cinematography is gorgeous, and the southern part of India is shot extremely well.

For making me laugh, fully emotional at times, and cheer for SRK as **SPOILER ALERT** he is beating the hell out of the bad guy after getting his ass kicked for several minutes.

I give this a 4.5/5, it misses the .5 only because few of the songs couldve been a little better. Nonetheless it is THE movie of the year so far on the entertainment scale.

I know its not the most sensible film, but if I want sensibility, I'll read a book. i go to the theater to be enjoyed, not to watch documentaries. And I thoroughly enjoyed this one, do NOT miss out and go board the Chennai Express!!! 😊

Saw this yesterday at a packed cinema in uk. Thoroughly entertained loved it was a great movie first half was hilarious SRK was in full form brilliant acting by Deepika they both looked so comfortable with each other. I liked the songs more after watching the movie though. Loved it when they spoke to each other via songs very creative fun idea!!
Overall I had a great time good laughs certainly a family fun filled movie that had a good mix of it all- comedy, romance, action, drama and excellent performances and chemistry between the leads. Definitely could watch again. Only drawback was the ott climax 4/5

If you like Golmal or Bol Bachchan go for it girl! What are you still waiting for?😆
Its not for those people who are expecting a Barfi or a Hrishkesh Mukherjee film. Its a Rohit Shetty film...SRK style.
