So, here is the latest update of Chennai Express Friday collections at Indian Box Office. Film opened to huge 70-75% opening on Friday in Morning shows all over India. With day progressed film sustained well. But good news is that CE has picked up well from afternoon shows as expected because of EID Holiday and registering many Housefull shows all over India. In fact, film is registering a humongous occupancy of around 85-90+% on average across all India. Even the low performing single screens in Mass centers in Morning shows are registering excellent occupancy in 2nd half of the day.
In Delhi City filmed has registered around 87% occupancy in afternoon shows, which is a big increase from 60-65% in Morning shows. In Mumbai film is registering a 90-95% occupancy in afternoon shows, which is again an increase from 80-85% in Morning shows. In Gurgaon occupancy for afternoon shows is 97-98%. In Hyderabad it is 98-100% for afternoon shows. Many housefull shows are recorded in each center and many shows are already Sold Out for the day.
Going by the early trend Chennai Express is heading for a massive number for Friday. Yes, it is chasing Ek Tha Tiger Biggest Single Day also. It is to remember that ETT registered monstrous 95%+ occupancy for the day in every single screen and multiplexes in India. That occupancy is difficult to achieve. But positive sign is that CE has got 300-400 more screens and 5-10% Ticket hike in comparison to ETT. Which might tilt the numbers in its favour in final tally.
Anyways Friday Collection of Chennai Express is going to be earth shattering. Although it is too early to make any statement. Still, a conservative figure of 25+ crore nett or even 27-28+ crore nett is a must looking at the trend. Numbers may be higher also, when full single screens numbers will be received for the day. If everything falls on Chennai Express plate then 30+ crore nett in a single day and finally even ETT's untouchable Single Day Record is in danger. Now all depends on wide Single Screens report which is still to be received and obviously the Evening and Night shows of today.
