👏 so far great reviews for the movie...People are loving it...👏
What I love from Anna M Vetticad's review is :
"After the emotional roller-coaster she pulled off in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, here's another thumbs up for Ms Padukone, this time in a vastly different role."
"but inChennai Express Deepika is an equal partner to her hero, as she has been in most of her films so far. Hopefully a day is not far when a leading lady does not have to depend on a leading man's largesse to have her name placed in the credits where it should rightfully be. Until then, here's another small milestone to celebrate."👏
So proud of Deepika who is climbing this ladder slowly by learning from her mistakes and few not so great movies...👏

30+ Cr with 3800 Screens + EID HOLIDAY + TICKET HIKE =)) ROFLMAO🤣

ETT Made 33 cr even on a Ramzaan day with No Muslim Audience😛

Firstly Many muslims do watch movies in ramadan, I remember some of my friends who are muslims went to watch Ett first day itself, and Independence day is a bank holiday, eid isn't, many companies across the country doesn't give holiday to non muslims on eid. The price hike is minimal around 10-15 percent which was even seen at the time of ett. also CE has been released in 3600 screens and not 3800, plus the paid previews has collected around 7 crore which has affected the 1st day collection otherwise it would've easily been 35-37 crore, although it still could do 35 crore...:)

I promised to have this review done by yesterday but oh well, nvm😆

Disclaimer- This review has been written by keeping aside all my bias for both Shahrukh and Deepika.

To start with, watching CE in the theaters is something I can never forget cuz it was the first ever time that I heard people clapping and whistling in a theatre in Bahrain. I've never been for a movie on the first day of it's release which is maybe why I've never seen this kinda excitement cuz thats when the more dhinchak crowd come for movies.

Now coming to the movie, it's mindless, yes. But at the same time is super fun. I haven't laughed for a movie this way in ages. I assure that the movie is gonna receive polarized reviews cuz the humor quotient is of a particular taste. If you like one joke, you'll love all of em and might almost die laughing but if you dun have the taste for it, you'll find the movie extremely silly. OH AND THE BEST PART IS ITS A FAMILY FILM WITH NO ADULT/CHEAP JOKES. It's a fun movie with many enjoyable jokes. My sister and I were laughing so hard that we almost got breathless😆 The action sequences were limited. And I found that car blowing up part kinda cool😆 And they didn't show Rahul(Shahrukh) beating up a thousand people at a time as well k.

And btw there are no racial jokes. I'm a southie(not Tamilian though) which was an added advantage cuz I could understand the Tamil dialogues. Infact in the movie, there's this part which has a dialogue describing how South Indians belong to the centre of peoples heart or smthn. So no discrimination included in the movie.

Coming to the performances, the first half belongs to Deepika and the second half to Shahrukh. In the first half, Shahrukh goes a bit OTT in a few scenes with the comedy but is still very charming. His comic timing is good and he looks super cute and young. Deepika was fantastic! She looked gorgeous! Her comic timing and accent, both were amazing. Even though I found her accent a bit over done in the trailers, in the movie it was perff. The way the messages are conveyed through songs was my favorite bit!🤣 I nearly died laughing there😆 Once the movies touches its second half, it takes a more romantic and emotional side which is where SRK takes lead. Romance being his forte, he does a faab job as always. The rest of the cast members fit the bill perfectly.

The music is decent. 1,2,3,4 wasn't even half as bad on the big screen. Priyamani is really cute. Titli was a visual treat along with Kashmir Main Tu Kanyakumari. The cinematography of both the songs is wonderful. But the BEST is Lungi Dance!<3 I almost did start dancing😆 Infact if the lights weren't on, I would've danced with my sister😆, jk by the way. I'm addicted to Lungi Dance! I wish the title song was included. Tera Rasta Main Chodoon Na is a cute song however the video is different from what it was promoted.

Rohit Shetty has done something different this time. He has given the love story and the female lead more importance compared to his previous movies. I'd rate this as his best product after Singham. The movie has got many negatives, true. It's got no logical story and stuff but still it would be unfair if I trashed it due to it's lack of logic cuz this movie was made to entertain and I laughed ALOT, so it worked for me. It isn't some kinda epic thing for sure, but if you wanna give yourself a break, leave all your seriousness aside and go for it.

4/5

Ps: Kindly ignore the typos.
