Akshay Kumar is bonding with son Aarav when he's not on the sets in Thailand.
Akshay Kumar is currently in Bangkok shooting for his next film It's Entertainment. His son Aarav has accompanied him. Daddy is babysitting his son this time, while wife Twinkle is in Mumbai with their daughter Nitara.
Akshay, Twinkle, Aarav and 10-month old Nitara had gone on a month-long holiday to New York last month. They then went to Thailand for the shooting of It's Entertainment. Last week, they all came back to Mumbai for a few days as Akki had to promote Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara. He returned to Thailand last week and wanted his family to join him, but Twinkle is busy with her interior design commitments, which she'd neglected while she was away for a month. So, Akshay decided to take Nitara and Aarav with him. Aarav has spent a few vacations with his dad on his shootings abroad when he was a baby, and AK now wants to do the same with his daughter so that he doesn't miss out on Nitara's growing moments."
But Tina put her foot down. "Nitara is barely 10 months old and Tina didn't want her to be anywhere without mommy's supervision. She wasn't keen on sending Aarav either as his school will be re-opening soon. But Akshay insisted on taking him along to Bangkok for a week for some father-son bonding. Aarav is on the sets with Akshay in the day and in the evening the duo go shopping, dinners or play games and go swimming," says a source close to Akshay.
The source reveals that Akshay is a very hands-on daddy and takes care of his children very well — right from changing nappies to babysitting them. "Aarav has earlier also been with Akshay alone when Tina had to visit a client in Spain. When Aarav was three years old he had accompanied Akshay to London for the shooting of one of his films."
Akshay Kumar the new Dara Singh?
Akshay is keen to portray Dara Singh, but needs time to work on his physique.
After Farhan Akhtar as Milkha Singh and Priyanka Chopra as Mary Kom, it could be Akshay Kumar as Dara Singh. Director Rohit Jugraj has approached Dara Singh's son Vindoo with a project with Akshay Kumar playing the lead. Apparently Akshay is keen to portray Dara Singh, but needs time to work on his physique.
Says Vindoo, "Yes, Rohit Jugraj has approached me to make a film on my father's life. Akshay is the one chosen to play my father in this project. However, he would need time to bulk up. Also, all these things (cricket betting scam) happened and I didn't want to embarrass Akshay by connecting with him at that time." Interestingly, there is another Dara Singh bio-pic in the pipeline, this one in Punjabi. Says Vindoo, "Yes, I've been approached by the producers of Jatt & Juliet with a Punjabi film where they want Sangram Singh to play my dad. Let's see which one materialises first."
