I remember I used to love watching Astitva, Ek Prem Kahaani.

It was brilliant. There was Amanat, from the 90s.

Then I dont know what happened.

Those shows started off and went well for a while but towards the end they were dragged like anything.

Indian soaps (both reality and fiction) have become so stupid i sometimes feel like a retarded person that i don't even have something to watch for. no more youthful shows, even the ones running currently have the spices of typical melodrama. Channel V programs are not my cup of tea. they are boring. i watch only gumraah, crime patrol and savdhaan india. there is nothing else to watch out for.

i now want to turn to western shows, but they too are not interesting anymore. gone are those days we used to have shows like Baywatch hawaaii, xena, sheena, beastmaster, they are all gone...

Aaah the good dramas back then. I remember watching Kusum, Kutumb, even remember watching Kangan and Kora Kaagaz. Zee TV have launched a new channel called Lamhe and they actually put on Astitva, Hasratein, Amanat, Kasamh Se, Sindoor, Saat Phere. Been watching Amanat at the moment so far so good, Gracy Singh looked so young!

all those are zee old tv shows .. amanat was one of the best shows with great story

even Koshish was very good and all others that u can see on that channel

Once upon a time zee tv had great shows

Thanks desigirl90 n sana for the synopsis n show names. I don't knw much abt Pakistani shows...jst recently got hooked to Humsafar 😳 What I love abt Pakistani dramas is there simplicity n emotional value. Nothing OTT.

I love Asian shows as well jst dnt knw there name😳 the only name I knw is My girl 😕 I love Asian shows n movies...I especialy loved a korean show based on royal family...recently I saw Kitchen Musical coming on NDTV goodtimes

Indian Shows are simply pathetic 🤢 I try to stay away from them.

During mid to late 90s I remember watching Rishtey, Saturday night suspense, Star bestsellers, Amanat, Ashriwad, Hum Paanch, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Banegi apni Baat(my elder sis fav not mine), Hip hip hurray, Family No1, Just Mohabaat, yeh shaadi nahi ho sakti, Ghar ek mandir, Aahat n especially CID 😛 😆.

My mom used to love Kohra Kazar, Saaya, Saans Hasratein, Astitva, Mrityudand, Dastan n all the Harsh Chaya shows...I was quite young at time to appreciate the raw emotional value of these shows. By the time 2000 came most of these shows ended or the makers stretched them to a point it was not watchable n when my age had jst hit the double digits Ekta kapoor started her daily shows 😛 In the beginning the shows where nice...kutumbh being my all time fav, Kusum, koshish ek asha, but slowly they became annoying n stretched a lot. Later courtesy new producers the whole tv scenario turned regressive 🤢

yrf produced really good shows like Mahi ways, rishta.com, khote sikke, Kismat(adaptation of Kane and Abel)
