Ouch, totally shreded the movie apart. EXACTLY how I felt while I had to sit through the horrible Tamil version, which if anything to go by, is probably more tolerable than Hindi.

Ramaiya Vastavaiya And D Day Are Low On Monday

Tuesday 23rd July 2013 11.00 IST

Boxofficeindia.Com Trade Network

Ramaiya Vastavaiya and D Day have low collections on Monday despite not falling that much from their Friday numbers. Ramaiya Vastavaiya fell 40% from Friday while D Day fell around 30% but the Friday numbers were low.

D Day grossed 1.75 crore nett approx on Monday while Ramaiya Vastavaiya grossed around 2 crore nett. The totals so far are in four days is 11.50 crore nett for D Day and 14.75 crore nett for Ramaiya Vastavaiya.

The first week business looks like being around 20 crore nett for Ramaiya Vastavaiya and around 16 crore nett for D Day which are poor figures for both films.

I say this always, not good at reviewing so will just put in bits and bobs

Firstly i went to see this movie on saturday, coz i guess i wanted a chilled out romance movie which i havent seen for a long time, and also i found Girish appealing when he was promoting and the constant promos of seeing the songs, and also coz Girish looked promising

I honestly did not go in with high expectations, just went for a good movie and thats that.

And i liked it, it is a good movie in terms of a simple story and the movie belongs to Girish, he did well and i do hope we see more of him, he has good screen presence, good dancer and looks natural on-screen, i think with a few movies he can only get better and better to what he is now...

Shruti was just the female heroine, nothing too big but she looked good.

Few laughs here and there at times.

I also agree with ppl when they its like kinda-ish modern version of Maine Pyar Kiya - in the sense you do think of MPK at times lol

I think with Girish is that, he is promising and there is a natural-ness about him, he looks good despite the hair lol and also this natural-ness can only build on getting better and better, which i can only hope it does...

Also in the movie Shruti'a character called him a bander (monkey) and he certainly is a bander coz he is so hyper active lol

Well either I must have such awful taste if film, or this film is just bloody bad.

Nope.. I didn't laugh at you but at your misfortune that you had to bear this torture.

It's just that how you expressed your disgust was amusing to me.

No offence at all.

I have no intention of watching such tacky south-remakes.

😊

Any specific reason for mentioning that exact year?

If you meant to say cheese, then what about 90's?

Ramaiya Vastavaiya and D Day Tuesday Box Office Collection

Ramaiya Vastavaiya and D Day remained steady on lower end on tuesday at box office. Ramaiya Vastavaiya collected around 2.17 crore nett on Tuesday, thus taking its 5 day total to 17.25 crore nett. D Day collected around 1.8 crore nett on Tuesday, thus taking its 5 day total to 13.6 crore nett.

Both films are performing below par considering the film cost and wide release. There is some positive for RV as collections are note worthy because of relatively fresh star cast for the film. Makers of both the film will have to look for non-theatrical revenues to recover the cost of the film. As for distributors they are in Red with both the film.

Collection Breakup of Ramaiya Vastavaiya -

Friday - 3.53 crore nett.
Saturday - 4.09 crore nett.
Sunday - 5.27 crore nett.
Monday - 2.2 crore nett.
Tuesday - 2.17 crore nett.
Total - 17.26 crore nett.

Collection Breakup for D Day -

Friday - 2.54 crore nett.
Saturday - 3.15 crore nett.
Sunday - 4.25 crore nett.
Monday - 1.85 crore nett.
Tuesday - 1.8 crore nett.
Total - 13.59 crore nett

Ramaiya Vastavaiya First Week Box Office Collection

Ramaiya Vastavaiya has collected around 20.5 crore nett in its 1st week at the box office. Ramaiya Vastavaiya has trended better in the weekdays but because of average performance in the opening weekend film overall business remained below par.

If one looks at the fresh star cast of the film then RV has done decent business in India Theatricals. But when one looks at the wide release and film landing cost then collections are below par and could have been easily better. Makers will find it difficult to recover the cost despite taking non-theatrical revenue into consideration because of the film relative high cost. Plus, there are multiple releases this week which will badly affect its progress at box office.

Collection Breakup of Ramaiya Vastavaiya -

Friday - 3.53 crore nett.
Saturday - 4.09 crore nett.
Sunday - 5.27 crore nett.
Monday - 2.2 crore nett.
Tuesday - 2.1 crore nett.
Wednesday - 1.8 crore nett.
Thursday - 1.55 crore nett.
Total - 20.54 crore nett.
