I don't know why you put Rani amongst the rest of the actresses. She has made a huge name for herself in the industry. Actually so has Preity. Both the actresses have been miles ahead of Sushmita, Lara, Bipsasha, and Amrita.
I don't think any of these actresses are 'done.' For me Sush is a highly underrated actress who has never gotten her due in the industry. I am no fan of Bipasha or Amrita, so the less said the better. Lara is simply average. Preity had her share of luck back in the days though I've never been a fan. Rani has given us some great performances and she had her time as well.
With the newer generation, actresses like Preity and Rani are thrown aside, though they are not completely 'done.' Rani's role in Bombay Talkies may have been short, but it had a huge impact. It just didn't create the buzz that her other roles had.
I think ALL of these actresses have tried to give their best. Some had luck by their side, while others unfortunately didn't. And unfortunately after marriage/kids an actress's career almost immediately starts to fade out, while the actor on the other hand continues to act. So stereotypical.
