Okay so stalking isn't much of an issue..and even the wrist slitting isn't too horrible. That makes me feel better now. Some reviews that I skimmed said it's not a big deal because this is how it is in UP. ..and someone said that you have to take off your "metro glasses" to watch this film. 😆

Since we are discussing scenes and plot loopholes here...one thing, I could never understand was how Jasjeet agreed to lie for Zoya's sake! And that too a huge one...pretending to be a muslim and getting married to her in her own house!

This was the sort of thing that Kundan would have done cheerfully...but not Jasjeet! Either his character wasn't developed well enough or his relationship with Zoya wasn't explored that deep, for the viewers to be convinced that a man like Jasjeet, who in Zoya's own words, is not affected by her beauty, would do such a big charade to marry her!

I think the explanation that was sort of implied in the scene where Jasjeet narrates his side of the story to Kundan in the hospital was that all his life he did things his way but when he fell for Zoya, he got carried away and agreed to all this for her sake...Basically love was the reason for all downfall in this movie...lol

I watched it

simply brilliant movie with real characters..dhanush was terrifiic..infact all the actors did good job.

i did not feel any disconnect between first and second half...

thoroughly enjoyed watching it.. !!!

Raanjhanaa held up very well in Rajasthan on Monday as in most other parts of the country. The daily four day business in Rajasthan is as follows.

Friday - 34 lakhs

Saturday - 38 lakhs

Sunday - 50 lakhs

Monday - 24 lakhs

Total - 1.46 crore

Just watched the ending again...

*SPOILERS*

I didn't hear it clearly the first time but Murari tells Kundan ki "mar jaa"...awww :((

The ending hit me harder on a second watch...Sonam was outstanding in the last scene...the way she watches Kundan...and refuses to leave even after the nurses are trying to pull her away...every shade of Zoya in that moment...the tiredness, the dead eyes, the way she's stroking Kundan's face lovingly...lovely depth of emotion in that scene as Kundan's voiceover is going on...

I think you start to understand the characters more on a second watch...

It also struck me that finally Sonam got to play a character that wasn't half-baked...Anand L. Rai truly gave her a role with so much scope and then nurtured her through that role it seems...and the difference in her acting shows...she wasn't just a cosmetic showpiece in the movie...she was Kundan's object of affection but her personality was explored much beyond that too...

RAANJHANAA Holds Well On Monday

"Raanjhana" was never expected to strike big at box office due to not so great cast and rather small town romantic theme. But all these things worked well for the film as film holding well on weekdays after fantastic growth over weekend.

As per early estimates, film collected 3-3.10 cr nett on Monday following 20 cr nett weekend. Late night shows might effect this figure by 10-15%. Film has collected 23 cr nett plus in 4 days and just a drop of 30-35% on Monday from Friday is simply outstanding.

Film will finish week one with 30-32 cr nett and that puts film in good state for 2nd week onwards.
