The Indian Express report headlines it that Cops say he beat her. Yet, in the body itself, they don't attribute the allegation of his confession to the police. Sorry but I don't find this completely credible.

Sooraj Pancholi, arrested for abetting actor Jiah Nafisa Khan's suicide, has allegedly confessed that he had beaten her up following a fight in Goa eight months ago, after which she slit her wrist. According to Juhu police, Sooraj has admitted to being in a live-in relationship with her. Police are contemplating adding additional charge under Section 498-A (harassment of a woman by husband or in-laws) of IPC

thts reali bad..the fact tht she tried 2 commit suicide b4, he shud hav informed her family and made sure nothing else happened tht wud lead her 2 try n kill herself...

and who r these BW ppl tht r putting pressure on Jiah's mum...erm they shud remember tht jiah was a member of the film fraternity and if they stand by the statement of BW being 1 big family then they shud support jiah's family in ensuring justice happens

Seriously, with these news coming out everyday it makes me feel so sad for her. Now I'm glad her mom released that letter...I get the feeling he had to confess to soem his crimes. And yeah I call it crime, cuz you never should beat a woman, no matter what the circumstances.

I hope he gets some punishment, but stars hardly ever do. *sigh*

Since I don't really know how helpless Jiah was, I don't think it's fair to blame them equally. I don't know much about these abusive relationships, but I do remember learning in psych class that it's this roller coaster ride where the highs are some of the happiest moments while the lows are plain horrid. And if the guys ends of apologizng and promising to never hurt her then she believes him. It's easy to blame them equally but why must the guy beat her in the first place? Also, she was preggers so maybe she was emotionally blinded by this? Either way, it's a hard place to be in.

He's admitting to beating her, but lets face it, when people admit things, they usually leave out the worst. So god knows what he actually did to her.

Okay, so he should be charged since he admitted it. And may no girl ever to have to face what Jiah did. But he still can't be called a 'murderer' and 10 yrs is too big of a fine.

And it still puzzles me why a complaint wasn't filed before when Jiah was alive and her mother was well aware of what was going on.
