For eg.
- Item song will make film hit.
Sorry, it can't do anything for your film. It's like expecting people to savour the whole meal due to one piece of pickle!
- People will give same "love" to an actor's kid as they did to that actor.
I remember Rishi Kapoor had said this on Star Voice of India (Saawariya special) - ki aap hamare bete ko wohi pyar dein jo aapne humein aur humare parivaar ke baaki kalakaaron ko diya tha. (Something on similar lines).
WTH? Your industry might treat your kid like baba or baby and give them star treatment. Why expect audience to get "emotionaly blackmailed" and give "same" love to your kids/grandkids? Public ne tumhare parivaar ka theka le rakha hai kya?!
We'll appreciate if we like someone. If we don't then we don't care who's son or daughter is in a film!
And I think it's counter-productive when they want their kids to get same love. For that to happen their kid should also show same level in screen presence and performance. By making such statements, stars themselves put their kids in jeopardy by leading people to compare them to their forefathers.
- Audience is excited to see family of stars onscreen.
LOL! No! Entertaining content matters. Pehli baar Kapoors ek saath or Bachchans ek saath etc. makes ZERO difference! So what if they appear ek saath? The Deols' Apne had so much hype simply for all 3 Deols being in one film for first time. Did it help? No. The film sank.
YPD succeeded because of its entertainment value.
Paisa vasool content hona chahiye. Family "ek saath" makes no difference and is certainly not as exciting for public as it is hyped by media!
- Audience is eagerly waiting for an actor's comeback.
I am always amused when comebacks are madly publicised! Who cares? We're happy with past memories of an actor's work. And if they went in to hibernation it was due to their personal reasons or the fact that they started looking old and lost their charm in films.
These "when will you make comeback" reports are media hype or probably stars' PR at work giving signal to filmmakers that they are ready to accept an offer. It's never on public's minds if an actor is going to make a comeback or not. Frankly many don't even bother if an actor is dead or alive - once she or he is out of sight.
The OMG! Look who's back articles around release of comeback flms are other nonsense. Nobody's jumping out of their seats except star's PR. And stars speak up as if they did great favour to humanity by coming back. LOL! You're no longer kings and queens. You needed to do a film and are fidgety to get acceptance again. No one's dying for your comeback.
And stop alluding to your past glory. Audience will judge you based on present film.

What other misconceptions do you think Bolly wallahs have? On what counts they need to get real?
