I m tossing my points where I disagree

People will give same "love" to an actor's kid as they did to that actor.

I remember Rishi Kapoor had said this on Star Voice of India (Saawariya special) - ki aap hamare bete ko wohi pyar dein jo aapne humein aur humare parivaar ke baaki kalakaaron ko diya tha. (Something on similar lines).

WTH? Your industry might treat your kid like baba or baby and give them star treatment. Why expect audience to get "emotionaly blackmailed" and give "same" love to your kids/grandkids? Public ne tumhare parivaar ka theka le rakha hai kya?!
I dont find anything wrong in what Rishi Kapoor said, comeone it is his son -wouldnt he want him to be successful as other memebers have been! Every filmy family wants, such appeal doesnt suprise me at all! If we are getting great talent in form of Sonakshi, Ranbir then why not - Most Welcome! I dont think they do any sort of Blackmailing... R Audience really that gullible??

- Affairs or fights help boost BO of a film

Whoever thought of using it as marketing gimmick was making an ass of himself, stars and public!

It's a joke how Ranbir Kapoor is linked to Katrina, Nargis or Deepika or PC as he does films with them and media even makes stories of how much Rishi and Neetu like the girl! 😆

And what if stars were at conflict during a film? So what?

It all makes for good timepass reading gossip. It does not help the film really.

How much did Vivek-Ash affair help Kyun Ho Gaya Na? What did Saifeena affair and show of love through tattoos do for Tashan? Shahid-Kareena never got mileage for films despite their brazen show of "love". Rani-Govinda affair did nothing for their films.

Film should be good and entertaining. You think we're going to turn up for a film knowing you are having an affair? Really?

And you think we are foolish enough to believe that actor has affair with every heroine he works with?

I gave examples of songs like Ishq Kameena, Oh Saaki Saaki, Jalebi Bai that did not exactly do much for the films they were part of.

And Munni was surely not the sole reason for Dabangg being so huge. It was Salman in a never seen before avatar that helped it the most. The rest of the songs were quick to catch fancy of desi crowd too - Humka peeni hai, Tere mast mast do nain, Dabangg title song - all had their share of popularity.

Malaika did popular item numbers in Dil Se (Chaiya Chaiya), Kaal (Kaal mein hum tum karen dhamaal) - how successful were these films? The former should've succeeded in at least getting an average tag because back then we did not have Youtube or plethora of TV channels to watch a song as we have now. So people should have thronged to theatres no?

Regarding Rishi's statement that was just an example. You yourself said audience is not that gullible. I said the same thing. Do they think we are gullible enough to get blackmailed? We'll give love only if they do good work. Not if their parents keep making appeals before their debuts!

^^^ Well I still feel Munni was turning point in Dabaang, it made people notice film and after that songs releasing thereafter become instant rage also! And there are two sides of coin... If item songs can make a film a huge success, it also can not make it is failure! I agree with that, but we cannot say that 'it does nothing for a film'
