I agree, it will be as comical as Kat trying to speak Hindi in Hindi movies.

Deepika's in an english movie 😆.

Her english is horrible can not even pronounce words properly.

I do not know how Arjun speaks english so can't comment.

It's a Konkani-English story and Deepika speaks in Konkani in the movie which her native language

Deepika's English is more than fine. I've heard her in interviews and I don't know what people are going on about.

There is nothing wrong with her English. She speaks quite well.

yeah her english is fine but in the movie she speaks her native language which I'm excited about since she always speaks in hindi or english, she finally get to speak her own language

Yes. And also, if she speaks in the English in the film, there should be no problem since she's not playing an NRI who's supposed to have grown up in that certain country. (And by the way, I want to know how many of these Bollywood or Indian actors actually take the effort to speak in the correct accent when they play NRI characters. I can only think of Vivek Oberoi who did change his accent considerably to try to match an American accent in Kurbaan. I also think there were a few scenes in Don where SRK adjusted his accent. Others I've seen are all laughable. Wannabe American when one is supposed to be Brit, or no effort at all, etc, etc.)

People here love making fun of people's English when it comes to certain accents, as if that means the person speaks poor English. No one wants to answer me when I ask what's wrong with her English, but it's obvious when people talk about her pronunciation or make fun of her pronunciation, they're pointing at her accent.

She speaks very well, and is very fluent in English. LOL. But accents of all the other stars are no problem. That is until they fake an accent, then it's a problem. People like K Jo, his English never comes into question. His accent is apparently acceptable. But someone who has an accent like Deepika, suddenly her English skills are laughable

What a damn joke. If she speaks like that over here in the metropolitan cities in the US people wouldn't be making fun of her accent. Because you know what? Despite the earlier stereotypical Indian accent jokes in the media, such instances are not so common now and have decreased. But here, we have people saying she has no English skills. LOL. Hear her speak, and see how fluent she is in the language.

likarsh - Don't even worry about it. People have no issues with non indians speaking Hindi with accent than I don't know why have a problem with a Indian actor having an hindi accent speaking english
