I was listening to an old Kumar Sanu song today and it got me thinking about what such singers as Kumar Sanu, Udit Naryan, Shaan and even Abhijeet B. are doing now? Bollywood has opened up to a lot of new singing talent and you don't hear from the older ones anymore. It's a bit sad actually because they are exceptional singers. Don't get me wrong it's great that new talent is emerging but it's also a bit sad to see the older ones being sidelined. Even Sonu only sings a song or two.
I checked Shaan on Twitter and he seems to be doing a lot of shows and stuff and had tweeted how the music of today is so mediocre that it makes the older songs (I am assuming the 90s and 2000s) seem like gems.
Even Udit Narayan tweeted how if they had twitter in the 2000s he would be constantly tweeting about all the new songs he was singing. Now a days he's singing a few songs down south and seems like he doesn't have much on his plate.
No idea about Kumar Sanu considering Aashqui was huge for him, same goes for Abhijeet.
Read a 2 year old interview of Kumar Sanu, he said something I totally agree with I understand technological advancements, but now a days you cannot tell a singer by his voice much, back in the day I could easily differentiate between who is who, now a days I have to google it to see who the singer is, Kumar Sanu is right, they all sound pretty much the same😆
