It's ignorant to deny that SRK DID take over Salman and Aamir in the 90s. They went through a lull for some very long periods of time soon after that- that was their low phase- Salman giving back to back flops and Aamir just disappeared. SRK's low phase now isn't half as bad as theirs was.

And, SRK doesn't NEED to reach any "heights" now, he's achieved enough and is now above and beyond all that- he's considered a legend already by the majority, no.1 or not now doesn't matter, he's going down in history as one of the greatest superstars. And I HIGHLY doubt he'll fall gradually from here, yes romance is not the top genre anymore but that's not what he's restricted to. He just might find his niche, he has the skills, just needs to work with the right people and I have hopes he will. Aamir finally found his comfort zone- social issue movies work best for him and he's sticking to them more or less, Salman found his too and I'm sure soon enough SRK will too. Too early to anticipate anything, I think.
