People watch films to get away from reality. One can always experience how people walk by standing in the street, or watch documentaries or read books if they're that curious about the real world. No point in watching senseless fluff and then expect reality from it. 😆

While far away from a fan of the film, I'll take a brainless entertainer like K3G over KJo's recent pseudo-powerful films.

It's not my type of guilty pleasure at all hon cuz I simply love it. I'd rather watch SOTY or OSO for guilty pleasure cuz I find them stupid yet entertaining 😆

Well it's not a masterpiece by any measure, that bit is blown way out of proportion. But I think it's a decent family entertainer. I mean I had a blast when I watched it with my entire family in the theatre back then. It pretty much has all elements that a typical Bolly film needs to have - family drama, romance, comedy, misunderstandings etc etc.

But I disagree when you say there was no difference in SRK's performances in DDLJ, KKHH and K3G. I think DDLJ was a trendsetter and particularly SRK's portrayal of Raj. Any actor at that point of time would have made him the typical macho hero who could bury a thousand people into the ground to get his girl. But SRK redefined the image of what a "hero" should be like. DDLJ for me is one of SRK's memorable performances.

i think kozia means tht his performance in K3G is more or less a rehash of wht hes done b4...raj/rahul characters he plays in DTPH, KKHH, K3G, DDLJ, chalte chalte etc are essentially all the same guy...pushy lover boy/ lover man...but since DDLJ was the first of its kind, it was more credible as a performance..and a tad more spontaneous too because he was doing it for the first time...but after tht, he did keep repeating himself again n again...it kinda loses the effect it had and becomes mechanical...

however, i do like srk in k3g, DTPH and KKHH better than his latest lover man role in JTHJ...something just seemed a bit "off" there...perhaps tht was the point where he started to get too mechanical for me..

^ I of course found him good in JTHJ acting wise cuz the guy didn't ham it. It was Katrina that put me off plus crappy storyline

defo those those factors for me too...😆

but as far as the performance itself is concerned, i didnt really like him in the first half...with all tht broken english and the trying to be all cute n funny n silly...i really dunt mind it if he hams..he hams well if u know wht i mean...😆...but the first half with all tht guitar playing, and the cutesy lover boy act was just sad...i kept wanting to laugh and go "aww" but i couldnt...kahaan raj/rahul aur kahaan this idiot...😕😆

i liked him better when he was more mature and subdued like in the army portions...

but still...it didnt really have THE SRK IN A ROMANTIC ROLE wala feeling IMO...

This is such an OTT post! 😆

There movies crappier than K3G, don't see how it could define crap? It's not a masterpiece yeah but it's not crap either, it was enjoyable then and is enjoyable now. If you're looking for more "realistic" films then you should know better than watching a KJo flick. 😳 He's known to make the fluff, candyfloss type films, not realistic ones. As BTV said, many watch movies to escape reality and this movie had the correct elements for that. If only realistic and social message giving movies existed, BW would become kind of boring, everyone needs something that isn't reality related as well, and this movie does just that.

and for the mindless harmless fluff genre...i think K3G works pretty well..
is any family like tht? no..
do we all travel by helicopters and live in scottish palaces? no...
do we wear manish malhotra? no...
do we join an MBA university for timepass as we try to unite estranged brother to his father? no...
do we wear glittery bras to proms? no...

but can i watch this all in a movie? yes...😆...

mindless crap can be entertaining too...as long as the director has enough conviction to handle all tht cheese...

kjo is never abt logic, or sense anyway...hes all abt loving the fluff...n the cheese and the corn...

i seriously dunt mind this film...

the only kind of "fluffy romantic" movies i detest is the wannabe holly ones, or the really really pretentious "im so cool n hep..." ones which look like clones of an american sitcom.. (IHLS, BKB, AA, EMAET, ZNMD)...

Pathaka, Even I do not mind watching the overmelodramatic movies if they are engaging enough...K3G was not for me...KKHH was...last paragraph was interesting though...because I think those movies are a welcome change to bollywood...instead running around trees..where there are genuine real characters built for a romantic relationship...I find K3G more wanna be than EMAET by a distance...the Wanna be rich...the wanna be posh...the dresses...it is just trying tooo hard to be seen as rich that they never fail to wear jewellery even at home...like getting of a helicophter at home...less said about Kareena's wanna be character the better...

It was great to see success not thrown into the face of Imran Khan's character in EMAET where bollywood needs a dyslexic child to win a competition to think he is successfull(TZP)...where being normal is not celebrated enough...Imran does not change...does not get a girl..or turn his life around by getting huge success or become a photographer(which is his passion)..and they remain friends...I think these movies..inspite of being a fluffy romantic genre are giving characters a human touch which is unbelievably refreshing to see in bollywood than see rich caricatures...Even ZNMD . Other movies are listed are bad due to the movie being bad though..not wanna be !!.
