Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan once again targeted for his sect and being a Muslim superstar, quits twitter. Star's followers on the microblogging website not only include his fans but also his critics who happen to ill treat him from time to time.

Gone are the days when celebrity-public relations used to be sugar quoted. The anonymous critics now have the liberty to abuse, harass and bully the biggies. Apparently, SRK is targeted for being a Muslim superstar in India.

This is for the second time that the actor got angry over rude comments passed at him and left twitter. Annoyed Khan in his tweet expressed disappointment in his tweet and wrote, "Sad, i read so much judgements, jingoism, religious intolerance on the net & i use to think, this platform will change narrow mindedness, but no!"

Reportedly, the actor is now looking for ways to handle people's approach to self online. A source close to the star revealed, "Shahrukh is distraught with the negative energy on Twitter. The abuses and the vicious attacks on him after every tweet have made him very cynical about the medium."

"You can see from his last tweet that he is disillusioned with the medium," added the source.

A few other actors including Aamir Khan, nephew Imran Khan, Ranvir Shorey and Arjun Rampal meted same kind of treatment on the website.

With so much of negative energy being circulated on twitter, it seems that they will soon follow Khan's suit and quit updating.
