Ranveer Singh, Sushant Singh Rajput, Sidharth Malhotra: Who will be the next item kid on the new block?

While the lovely ladies continue to gyrate seductively to catchy numbers, the 'men' of B-town are also trying a (raunchy) step or two to break into this glitzy world of 'items'. But which of the newest imports to B-town fits this haute and happening bill?

Initially, when those one-off masala number in movies came to be termed as the item song, we assumed that this would be the space populated by the sizzling ladies of tinseltown. Then came along Hrithik Roshan in Krazzy 4 and Shahrukh Khan in Shakti to break our stereotypically coloured bubble.

Gradually, as the item song became as necessary as the script of the movie itself, we saw other B-town hunks like Ranbir Kapoor (Chillar Party), Aamir Khan (Delhi Belly), Salman Khan (recently in Son Of Sardaar) et al lending dates to the shooting of such sacrosanctly spicy numbers. And now we see fresh, sometimes even unknown faces and of course figures of item girls popping up in this realm. And we can't help but worry about the guys who will hold the stage in near future. Perhaps we shouldn't worry, 'coz there are plenty of young lads with twinkling toes finding their way into B-town these days…no? But could they pass the test to become an 'item bwuoy'?

Sushant Singh Rajput
Sushant Singh Rajput is the blue-eyed boy of the small screen who has won accolades on the bada parda now with his just-released Kai Po Che! But don't think that this guy is only about good looks and acting. Sushant can dance pretty well and has been well trained. Haven't you seen him floor the judges and the audience in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa? We were really impressed. So do you think he could be the next hot item boy?

Sidharth Malhotra
Now this dude earned truckloads of fans with his debut movie, Student Of The Year. Somehow, squealing girls couldn't stop thinking about this clean-at-heart, sincere dude. But do you think his dancing moves will sustain that love?

Ranveer Singh
Here's a man who took our collective breath away during the recent Filmfare Awards ceremony. The way he grooved and wooed the ladies was impeccable, no? And it was the same way in his films too, be it Band Bajaa Baraat or Ladies VS Rickey Bahl. So this one, we're sure, will make one helluva item boy. Don't you agree?

Jackky Bhagnani
This newcomer officially wants to dance a la Psy of Gangnam Style fame. Ambitious, we say. And perhaps he might be able to pull it off with elan. And we say this only after watching his moves in the Ganesh song from his upcoming movie, Rangrezz.

Arjun Kapoor

If there's an opening for an item boy with tapori ishtyle, wethinks Arjun will be able to fill it. Why? Remember the way he danced to Jhalla in Ishaqzaade? Ekdum phatak! But what about the classy numbers or the nightclub stuff that require a dancer to be perfect to a T? Do you think Arjun could pull that off too?

Ali Zafar
This actor from Pakistan is a multi-faceted dude. And we know you agree. But while bachcha bachcha know that Ali can write, compose and sing songs that can mesmerise the heart and soul, can he dance, saala? We caught a glimpse of this talented actor shaking a leg in Madhubala from Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Remember? But do you think he is the item boy material?
