And why not Sunny Pa ji...kyon nahi jaana chahiye Indians ko Oscar attend karne...what will happen?? Are the Indians who are attending Oscars disrespecting India or BW in any way???

I hate the attitude of these psuedo intellectuals and psuedo patriots...If something is good what is the harm in accepting that its good...doesn't mean that u are letting down ur country in any way...

The Academy Awards is an international platform...Winning an Oscar puts India on the International platform...Our movies and artists get more visibility...I don't see any harm in it...

Anyone who won't get an Oscar, doesn't need an Oscar. It is just like the fox who couldn't get the grapes because they were sour.

To a certain extent I agree. We have a great vibrant industry of our own. We have a huge global audience. We have our own brand of entertainment. The costumes, singing, dancing and music is unique to our industry. Even others have started appreciating our song and dance routine style of musical cinema. We are a different genre and rather than comparing/competing with others; we should focus within and what we can do to make it better.

At the same time a little recognition doesn't hurt at all. Character actors like Anupam Kher and Irrfan Khan don't get the recognition they deserve in Bollywood as their mettle and style is different. They are overshadowed by our larger than life heroes and item girls. So it makes me really happy to see them get good roles and international recognition. Also I think even the smallest Oscar recognitions, help Bollywood reach wider audiences and show what we can do.

That is why we should be happier and supportive when Indians/India gets recognized at Oscars. Sunny Deol is just being a bitter and sore person, and that's not classy at all.

Chalo, I'll give the man with a 2.5 Kg hand some credit. Yeah, why do we need Oscar nominations anyway? How pure and unadulterated are Hollywood movies, anyway?
